Sacred Hearth Sanctuary - Byron Hinterland Retreat & Venue

Appropriately titled 'Sanctuary', this beautiful property truly served as that during my three weeks staying there. Despite the heavy rain for us, whenever the clouds parted we were rewarded with truly stunning views. The owners ensured we had a comfortable stay, and there was plenty of space and facilities for everyone! Would love to return.

I hired Sacred Hearth Sanctuary very last minute due to previously booked accommodation no longer being suitable for our women's retreat for 15 retreatee's and 3 staff and it worked beautifully. If you are looking for a space to host a retreat or a large group here are a few details to consider as to why this space works.* The property itself is stunning and private, whilst still maintaining open spaces to enjoy the views of the nearby mountain.* The drive-in is accessible with 2-wheel drive.* Several deck options give you the opportunity to create different spaces for mini-workshops/meditations/circles etc* Separate kitchen (i.e. can close the door) when all the magic is happening.* Spacious (moveable) tea/coffee station is a winner - saves peeps in and out of the kitchen all day. - we took our own coffee machine but a very large urn is available for use which is great.* Guests found beds to be warm and very comfortable* The separate yoga/meditation space is a nice walk to get to and has an indoor fireplace for use - which would create a nice atmosphere for meditation, yoga Nidra, or yin.*The facilitator's cabin holds 2 people comfortably* Plenty of toilet/shower facilities available which are very clean, modern, and spacious. This meant no one felt they had to wait long or had to be super rushed.Correspondence with Mark and Emma (property owners) prior to our arrival was professional and kind and on the day of arrival Mark gave us a great tour of the space and let us in on all the important details that we needed to share with our guests. Definitely take Sacred Hearth Sanctuary into consideration for your future retreats.

The Sacred Hearth Sanctuary is a divine venue filled with intention and beauty. With it's sweeping views of sacred mountains, rolling grassy hills, private swimming pond, and nature preserve, it's the perfect place for a group or family retreat. The accommodations are simple, tasteful and cozy, the porches are a perfect place to snuggle with a journal or good book, and the shared living areas make for an easy place to join friends. The Temple is intentionally set up for groups to meet in nature with all the comforts needed to drop into a peaceful, healing state.

Sacred Hearth Sanctuary was the perfect location for a recent 3 day meditation retreat I attended with Swami Atmananda a senior teacher of Amritananda Mayi Devi. The grounds are superb with beautiful rainforest, the accommodation with very comfortable and peaceful. Highly recommend!

I recently performed at the Sacred Hearth Sanctuary for a Sunday Sangha evening. It was one of the most intimate and attentive crowds I’ve played to in a long time, leaving me feeling so inspired and humbled. Emma and Mark are both lovely hosts putting a range of delicious treats out for the event, not to mention the space/property is simply awe inspiring. I was delighted to experience yoga nidra with Emma who held profound and nourishing space for those attending. She is incredibly well versed in this realm and as grounded and real as it gets. I felt a returning and remembering of my deeper self and was not the only person present who was elated in gratitude.

Beautiful private location, serene and peaceful. Excellent practical space surrounded by the beauty of the forest. Very friendly owners. Highly recommend!

We have had multiple stays now at Sacred Hearth Sanctuary and each time it blows our mind more and more.A unique and beautiful house among the trees, with 360 degree views of the most stunning landscape you could ask for. A swim in the dam followed by a relaxing meal under the stars is a match made in heaven!The temple radiates the most beautiful energy and was the PERFECT place for Breathwork and Kundalini.Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!
