Used to be a very convenient walk in GP, now they are extremly understaffed. I don't plan 2 weeks ahead that I'll get sick. Where did the doctors go?

I arrived today for my 11.10am appointment only to be told there was not one for me today. I booked this appointment with the front desk when I was there on the 30th of January. I was then told that I had one booked for the 22nd of February at 8.50am, which was news to me.I am not stupid and I do know when my appointment was booked as I wrote it down in front of the front desk staff member. From a customers view point the front desk staff seem to be incompetent in making appointment bookings. I know I am not the only one this has happened to.The has caused me much inconvenience.Julie Svicarevich

Good points - plenty of parking. Plenty of seating and a TV in each wait room. They bulk bill. Online booking for appointments. Nursing staff are friendly and efficient. A couple of the doctors I have seen are excellent doctors - thorough, kind, efficient and treat you like a human being. Bad points - over the years, the reception staff have become more and more unfriendly. This has been heavily noted especially once covid came. The wait is absolute torture for one of the doctors - the problem is because he gives people the time of day, he is extremely slow. It's a catch 22, make a first up of the day appointment and you don't necessarily go in first (even though you're booked for the first appointment). Most people sit and wait for him because he has the people skills which many drs lack. I still go back even though the longest I've ever waited was just over 7 hours. Over been to other doctors here - a couple of the drs there are unfriendly and lack listening skills.

Absolutely disgusting my mum who is 80 had an appointment at 2pm and didn't get home until 6.30pm and said she only just left at 6pm what kind of medical center makes an 80yr old sit for 4hrs when she has an appointment you should be ashamed of yourself she will never be going back there! And she was lucky I wasn't with her this time!!

Just doing feedback on appointment process online ....Have no options for appointments on any other day than the next available day and that's not when I want the appointment but because it takes a week to get in to see a Dr I just made one for that day and hopefully I can call sometime and change it to a day or two after when I am not working, or even after 330pm that day.

Friendly staff, yeah ok waiting times can be long but that's what happens when you are under the pump. I've had the most great service. And my doctor is the best doctor I've had since I was under 10yrs. Thank you swan medical.

Thank you to the staff, doctors, and nurses for helping me to deal with multiple health issues. My latest issue was a badly injured shoulder and a ruptured eardrum. My GP took swift action to help me to heal. That included swift referrals for assessment and treatment, which got me back into this sometimes cruel game we address as life.EDIT:I decided to edit and amend my review after reading some of the most disrespectful and indignant reviews I'd ever seen. No, the receptionists here are not appalling nor rude and inefficient in my humble opinion. Some people need to recognise that one gets back what one exudes. If you don't like waiting for a caring and overworked GP, try going to the hospital and see how long you'll wait for indifference. No surgery is immune to the conditions most people here are complaining about. Be grateful that Swan Medical bulk bills for one. For another, be grateful that the GPs here are professionals with vast amounts of experience. OK, so Dr. Oosthuizen, who looked after me for over 10 years, left this clinic to emigrate overseas. Whilst he will be sorely missed, I am now under the care of Dr Mark Weedon who happens to be a gem of a man who almost always runs right on time and a doctor who eminates warmth, professionalism, awesome medical knowledge and a great sense of humour. As for the staff at the front counter, they are all lovely people who know me by name, even through my Covid-19 mask! They always greet me with a smile upon arrival. So what if I might need to wait on occasion? After all, I am a patient." Might I be so bold as to offer a bit of advice to those who are making rude remarks about having to wait: Before you leave - after having been seen - book your next appointment with receptionists well in advance. It makes a huge difference! This is an excellent and very convenient bulk billing clinic with an attached pharmacy

I came with my husband to see Dr Prendergast for his 1045 appointment. At 1015 we rang the clinic and were advised to come around 1pm. We arrived at 1pm. We were told there was one appointment in front of us and we saw the wait room with two other people completely full and empty again while waiting an additional 2.5hrs before having to leave for another appointment. After the other appointment (1hr absence) finished we returned to the clinic and were waiting a further one hour until I in my 8.5month pregnant state became impatient with the inexplicable delays and wrote this message at 6pm.Dr Prendergast is a wonderful doctor but even the public hospital system doesn’t make us wait as long as seeing one GP.This is beyond substandard service when everyone has busy lives.Someone at the clinic, either the doctor or the practice manager, needs to be accountable and set realistic wait times for patients so a simple 15 minute consultation does not become a whole day affair.

My aliment was visible (sore and painful) and only needed a script: was told no appointments. Clearly this Receptionist is inhumane. When you are in the medical field, empathy goes a long way. As they say, you too will be in my situation one day and how would you like to be treated?
