Grand Manor Motor Inn

I stayed for 2 nights here. Friendly and helpful staff on arrival. Good opening hours at reception if you needed assistance.Great price and my room was good quality. Very good bathroom with an excellent shower! All the appliances you need were provided in the room.

The room was very basic. Given the reviews I was expecting at least a 3 star establishment but every element was poor. There was no spare toilet paper, pillows or extra blanket and no hair dryer. Decor and fittings definitely dated. Wifi was not given at receotion and no infirmation was available in.rooms. Don't expect anything too much from this motel. The reviews were very misleading. Glad to only stay one night.

Great family run motel. We stayed in one of the townhouses, it was very spacious and we were very happy with the quality and cleanliness of the accomodation. Beds were extremely comfy and rooms had everything we needed. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Added bonus was our dog could stay too.

Nice room, well appointed. The hot water misbehaved during our visit.10 minute walk to the centre of Queanbeyan.

For a motel it was as good as you could want or expect. Very clean and modern, team are very accommodating. Great location and great on site parking, highly recommended family and pet friendly.

All in all pretty good place to stay...in particular because it is pet friendly.Only concern was the sniffle from the lady in reception upon arrival. I'm thinking if you are sick a mask is always a good thing especially in this day and age and also if you are working in the hospitality industry.Only other was the inherent sound of showers and running water that we could hear throughout the night.

When needing last minute substitute accommodation, after travelling for two days with pre-arranged accommodation, I phoned in a booking, en route, with credit card details, direct to Grand Manor reception. (After 16 attempts I was appreciative to have found over-night accommodation.)While understanding an early checkin may have been possible, we drove direct to Grand Manor to check that. We were met with an indignant, rude receptionist being told in no uncertain terms check-ins were 2pm. (It would have seemed reasonable for her just to check if the room was available.) However, when I returned @ normal 2pm check-in, a gentleman was at the desk. All was going normally until I casually mentioned, I wanted to give him feedback about the previous incident, and that the lady had been surprisingly very rude.Apparently it was a husband and wife Management/Rostered Staff on that weekend.‘The husband’ then abruptly stopped the check-in process. He stood up and became instantly irate that I would suggest his wife had been rude. At the time, I thought he may want to know the feedback; as probably the Manager.He took the feedback personally, as a criticism of his wife; not as feedback for the business. He became so, so irate. I tried to calmly explain I was just wanting to give feedback on our treatment, but most important was just keen to check-in. (I didn’t know the young lady was his wife; but shouldn’t have mattered.) It was just so unusual, unprovoked, unnecessary rudeness for a simple check-in availability check. Was worth mentioning.But what followed, pales the rudeness in comparison.Instead of continuing the check-in, in a bizarre, hysterical, threatening manner he came around from the desk, yelling “you don’t come here criticising my wife..get out!”. Stunned, I said I had nowhere to go, as my husband had dropped me off with our little dog to check-in and sleep, (my husband had an appointment). He said “I don’t care, get out!!”..He came closer and closer threatening with his arms and saying “Get out! Get out! I’m not giving you a room.” At this point, I was really fearful for my safety, so I left, shaken, shocked, bemused and distressed ..but mostly in disbelief and not knowing what to do.(May I add we are an elderly, non-aggressive retired couple, and in all our world-wide travels have never encountered anything remotely like this irrational behaviour.)I had to wait in the freezing cold with my little dog, walking some distance for shelter, with no accommodation prospect. Waiting until my husband could get here.It was ironic when I researched the Grand Manor, that the restaurant is called something like ‘Mind your Manors’…I would definitely not recommend this Motel, and hope the owners read this review and counsel staff to ensure their reputation is not tarnished.

Comfortable bed, accommodating friendly staff, shower and amenities all clean working fine. Food was exceptional. Thank you for making our visit to Canberra a fantastic experience.
