Conroy Removals

I did an international move from the US to Melbourne, the items were packed by US movers, and Conroys was hired by the company to unpack and deliver to my home in Melbourne.They were also hired to unpack as assemble furniture.They seemed quite friendly but they damaged items that were being unpacked in the truck.They said they would not assemble furniture.When trying to unpack they used a Stanley knife to cut boxes and packaging material, thus cutting into a bed and other vinyl items.They then placed one of thos items along a wall to hide the damage.I would not recommend them at allSave the damage and hire a competent company.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! VERY POOR SERVICE!!we opt not to pay for insurance as it was not a large move and we didn't have a large variety of items to move. items left in perfect condition (most of these items were brand new) arrived at the final destination and they were all destroyed (some items to the point that they could not be repaired. It was like they threw our desk and wardrobe from the back of the truck onto the ground with no intent of catching it (this was just 1 example) I spoke to a team member at Conroys and she said they would help us as it was pure NEGLECT!!! gave me the link to make a claim and submit photos to be told by someone else that no we will NOT help you at all" Not even for 1 item out of the multiple listed. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN AND WILL NEVER GIVE A GOOD RECCOMENDATION!"

Update: several months after I complained they have compensated me $500 (even though I didn’t get their insurance). I really appreciate this gesture, but I still would never use them again.We had our stuff (1 bedroom worth) moved from the Dandenongs to Brisbane and were devastated with how much damage our stuff had sustained with Conroy’s. Also, the customer service was fantastic when I was talking to the sales team but horrendous after we booked. The staff who collected and dropped off our stuff are the only reason this company deserves any stars as they were very polite and treated our stuff with great care.The woman assigned to us, Janelle, had minimum contact with us, was very rude when I mentioned that we needed to get our own box for our tv as the base wouldn’t come off (insisting ALL tv bases come off like I was stupid, when it’s actually an older flatscreen so the base doesn’t come off), and once our stuff had been picked up I didn’t hear from her for 5 weeks till she emailed to say our stuff had been dispatched with an ETA for 3 weeks prior to the current date (turns out our stuff was already in Brisbane as I’d suspected).When we had our stuff delivered I was shattered to see the state it was in. The boxes were all squashed and some broken (even the ones labeled ‘fragile’), one was opened and not resealed, and they were all upside down even though some were labeled ‘this way up’. As a result a crystal jug was smashed (that jug had survived dozens of moves including several interstate) and a crystal glass was also smashed even though it was in its own box within the box (which was completely squashed). Our bed and hall unit were badly scratched with missing paint, our antique side tables had half the legs snapped off, the tv unit had a big boot print on the side like someone had kicked it, and the washing machine had a dint in the side! Conroy’s were not cheap so I’m extremely disappointed to see these results of our stuff being treated with such disrespect. If you like your stuff enough to pay to move it then definitely don’t go with this company.

Everything that we didn't pack ourselves was professionally wrapped, very item numbers (have never had this before and loved it) and the crews were professional and friendly.  We never met the packing team but they did an awesome job.  The boys in Melbourne unloading were brilliant and please tell them how impressed we were.

We have used Conroy Melbourne for our interstate move. We found they had the most reasonable in comparison to other companies we searched but most of all the easiest to communicate with. quote Shane and Stephan facilitated the uplift for us and made the process completely stress free. Excellent communication and where happy to send photos and anything additional we needed as we were unable to be there. All of the staff we dealt with were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you Shane and Stephan.

I had tubs to move from Perth to Victoria and not only did Conroy have the best price, they had the best service! I didn't have to wait long for replies and the team delivering my items were simply great (especially considering everything had to go upstairs!). They even repacked a box that had needed it after calling me to check it was ok to do. I would recommend Conroy and use again!

I rarely post reviews but for this company I’ve make an exception. This company made the move seamless. The 2 guys doing the move Soleman and Josh were superstars and made what is normally a very stressful day a dream. They looked after our items really well and everything arrived without any issue.Could not recommend these guys any more. If I could give 6 stars I would, great work guys!!!

We recently shipped a number of boxes by boat from Canada to Australia. Conroy was the Australian agent who cleared our goods and delivered to our door. They did a fantastic job, providing me with regular updates on the shipping status, ultimately delivering on-time. All goods were received in perfect condition. Given that an international move comes with a lot of stress, especially when shipping items of sentimental value, I highly recommend Conroy for this type of service.

Update: My company has used Conroy several times in moving me from one city to the next. The recent moving from Melbourne to Brisbane, and now Brisbane to Tokyo have been an absolute pleasure. The packing staff were friendly, quick without rushing, and handled everything with care. I'm glad that my recent positive experiences with Conroy have begun to overshadow the negative ones previously.The worst removals company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. The staff on the phone are very friendly, but that is about all that is good about the company. They broke and misplaces several items of my furniture due to incorrect packing and mishandling. They packed my two 55in TV's in picture boxes; luckily they were not damaged. I had taken time off from work for a scheduled removal but they changed the time in their schedule without communicating to me. I had to reach out to them to find out why they had not arrived, to find out they had changed their schedule. They have no respect for their customers time or belongings. I heard rumors that they were going out of business, and for the sake of other potential customers I hope the rumors are true.

We have used Conroys several times and have mostly had really great experiences. Recently however, during our move from Auckland to Melbourne it wasn’t as smooth or easy!We were initially told that our items would arrive at end of Feb. They left the port in early March and I had to follow up numerous times via. Email to get updates. It had been several weeks, so I decided to once again follow up via. Email and was told that the shipment was being delivered the next morning and that “someone should have called you”. We at this point had not received any calls or text messages stating this. I spent that day calling around various people in the company.. mostly getting transferred then the call being cut off or only getting to answer machines. I finally managed to get hold of someone and was told that their delivery window was between 8am and 12pm only and did not deliver on weekends, which is what we had originally requested and been told it was okay. We had to the scramble and get ourselves organised as there was no other “possible delivery dates available”. At no point was there an apology. They did however agree to come slightly earlier, but we still had to arrange last minute leave from work.The movers who came to deliver our belongings were friendly and got the job done. They even came back to drop off a box that had been left behind, which was really great.We are currently unpacking our belongings and are finding quite a few damaged items - such as vinyls, frames and some what looks like water damage to boxes and the mattress. Was a disappointing experience this time round but glad our items have finally arrived.
