Go elsewhereVery poor experience with Lismore Mercedes, staff, and the quality of work.Sprinter van - Enquired about a 155,000km service (as indicated on the dash panel) by phone and advised them I was a few 1000 km over. Discussed if I could provide the oils and filters (engine & transmission) and was advised, Yes.I was quoted $250 for a service, then on the day charged $608.56 (including $200 for engine oil which I agreed to pay for).Lady who spoke to me on the phone was rude in person, full of nonsensical comebacks, and generally annoyed that I was questioning the increase in price.The Owner’s wife was also present and did not step in to resolve the price discrepancy but did offer $50 cheaper oil. Nice but this wasn’t the issue.No one took responsibility for the erroneous quote that got me there in the first place. It was as if it had never occurred and/or was simply irrelevant.Essentially I paid $600 for an oil change.Van was handed back in an unacceptable manner with work not done:- Engine oil pooling throughout the engine (not a little bit but a lot) that I had to soak up. Under the oil cap wasn’t wiped, it remained black.- Lights were not fixed, even though the dash panel told you they were out.- Tyres were inflated 10PSI over the load written on the tyres.- Windscreen wipers, that I requested to be replaced on the phone, weren’t done.- I was charged to refill the windscreen washer tank, even though it was full and contained product.I was advised by the Owner, Mark, that they, “Do not even have a $250 service”., nor do they have a 155,000km service.This excuse ignored the fact that the kms on the vehicle were approx 157,000 and -Guess what?- they DO have a 160,000 “Service B” that includes the transmission. I would have appreciated being informed of this up front, in lieu of listening to them defend their inaction. Whilst no one provided this advice, despite me providing the transmission oil and filter, they did tell me on collecting the vehicle, that it needed the transmission oil change!Yes, I know!Mercedes Lismore wanted to charge me another $400 for the transmission oil change, then subsequently offered a lower Fleet Rate on labour. I thought they should have done it at cost not Fleet Rate, given the poor service I had experienced and the multiple times I had to visit and call chasing them.No value was placed on my time or inconvenience which was very annoying.I ended up doing the transmission service myself. Even without power tools or a hoist it wasn’t difficult. I’ve no idea why they work off charging 1 3/4 hours of labour at $195 for the job?That was another discrepancy: I was initially quoted Labour at $125/hr, then that became $195/hour with the comment, “We’ve never charged $125/hr.”Staff excuses were made and Mark cited losses during Covid but most of us have lost money during Covid! As a retailer/service provider you are required to be responsible for the actions of your staff.My view is they failed at every level of service, quality, staff, and professionalism.I’d recommend you go elsewhere, actually get the job done, and pay up to half the price.Note: Review Account Name differs from vehicle owner name.
