The food was magnificent. The price was great value at only $45 for 3 delicious courses. I will certainly be back and sharing this gem with friends and family.Recommendations: 1st course - stuffed mushrooms, 2nd course - baramandi & 3rd course - pana cota.Amazing mocktails and cocktails too.

Had my wifes birthday there last night, To start with they tried to sit us in a corner that blocked views to rest of restaurant. They moved us next to kitchen which they said was the only other table free. Restaurant was no more than 60% full all night. The food was pretty good and service and service friendly. Our biggest issue was the state of the place. The tiles on the floor are cracked and dirty , tables were sticky, paintwork is shabby, entrance to toilets is disgusting. Chefs dont wear hats and have lots of hair. I wonder when this place last had an inspection. Much in need of a major renovation. A disappointing evening.

This place has always confused me, i’ll tell you why. So often I go to average restaurants that are masquerading as quality, fine dining restaurants. You know the ones….they look great in every way but the food ultimately fails to live up to expectations you had upon entering. Well, Portabella is the opposite. I have been dining here for years and have never had a bad meal. The food is always top quality. Still the best restaurant I’ve dined in on the north side of Brisbane. What I don’t understand is why this place doesn’t present itself as a luxury brand, to match the quality of the food that it produces. If Portabella were to dim the lights, change the flooring, paint the ceiling, have better chairs and throw a white table cloth over the tables…. Then it would easily be a fantastic fine dining experience to match the menu. The area is affluent enough to have plenty of clientele in a fine dining restaurant paying good money for quality food. Give this place a small makeover and improve the ambiance, then we would never have to venture into the city for a dining experience.Edit: just replying to the owner below. I was in there tonight and had another great meal. I did notice the flooring on the top level and thought “why don’t they do the whole place” haha.Tables and chairs, paint the office style ceiling dark and dim the lighting a tad and we have an absolute gem. Look forward to seeing you soon.

Service was great but the menu was disappointing. Booked in for mother's day because they had a nice looking vegetarian menu, but when we arrived we realised the set menu they had for the day had no vegetarian entrees listed and only one main. Ended up paying $64 and waiting an hour and a half for a pasta dish and a sticky date pudding.Would not recommend this place for vegetarians on busy days.

A nice and tasty suburban restaurant experience. Enjoyed the menu whilst the ambiance was unexpected. Friendly staff and notable service. I observed a wide range of customer demographic types which is indicative of it's broad appeal.

The tapas are wonderful and the service is even better. If luxury fast food was a thing, this place would be where it’s at. Each dish had a unique and flavorful bite. Order two small and two large tapas, a tasty beverage, and a desert for about A$100.Book ahead. Wear a mask to enter, take it off at the table, and put it back on to leave. It’s worth it.

Delicious. Our first time and loved it. Pork belly was lean and perfect. Chicken breast was tasty and moist. Vegetables are cooked to perfection. Lovely professional staff.

Attended here for a birthday dinner. Table of 9. I have been to this restaurant on 2 other occasions where I have sat in a large group. I have always found the food to be very nice. Good size portions and a good selection from the menu. The service is always slow. It can take a while to get your meals and even order meals and drinks. The staff are always friendly and most of the waitresses are young. The prices are expensive for the area of Albany Creek. I found 36 dollars for basic beer battered fish and chips extremely overpriced.
