Fathers day sunday - came to eat a nice relaxed lunch while kids entertained on play equipment. No clean tables, had to ask for one to be cleared. Cleared table but did not clean with cloth. Did that myself. Most people clearing themselves and dumping onto other tables. Long delay meant I needed to buy something ready made from cabinet to keep 3 yr old calm. Cost $5 for a jellycup with small chocolate. I found this expensive. Our food disappointing. Battered flathead fillets soggy underneath and dry inside. Salad had a large excess of red onion. Partners lamb cutlets relatively unimpressive. Not worth the $17each for our meals. Play equipment fun for kids but you need to keep a close eye on kids as some equipment damaged and could be dangerous. Honestly wouldn't recommend. Felt stressful looking at all the unclean and cluttered tables. They need to employ more people. They seemed surprised by how busy it was and used this as an excuse when others complained of food delays but surely being fathers day + weekend of swap meet and knowing few other places opened, they should have had reasonable idea. Best option for kids ...get something from Woolies and enjoy the park.

Ok, first off let me say that the coffee was fantastic, and the foccacia I ordered was divine. But I also need to mention the need to order a smile on the side from the lady who served me at the counter. My coffee came out pretty quickly amd was very enjoyable but foccacia took 40 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Granted it was delicious, I didn't have the pleasure of enjoying it with my drink. It was very tightly packed, and the layout of the shop wasn't quite the best. I feel they need to open up a space where you can wait, because I was constantly moving around and in the way of people who were sitting at their tables and/or trying to find one and it wasn't a very comfortable experience, especially waiting for 40 minutes.Would come back here again, but would also hope that they sort some of these things out that I mentioned!

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. You can tell they care about their regulars as they chat to them.I only ordered a cup of tea and they brought it over to me.There is plenty of seating inside or out the back. The storeroom is inside an old safe and the owner has retained the old safe door and restored the badge and paint on the door.Lovely place to stop and take a break from driving.Cheers

Great food, compliments to the chef. Very fast service and friendly staff. Looks unassuming from the outside but is a great place for some coffee and food with next to no wait times. There is a fantastic back yard outdoor dining area with shade and a kids playground to keep them entertained. Also the only place we could find that was open Sunday morning. Great little cafe, will stop again!

Dropped in while driving from Cowra to Gundagai and literally parked outside while looking at a place opposite. Great friendly service with a good choice of food, drinks and gelato! Had an excellent pot of tea and a slice of tasty cheesecake. Friendly table service with a smile.Really recommend Helen's if in the area. (Check out the vault style safe if you get the chance. These most valuable items stored in it seem to be paper coffee cups!)

We came here to celebrate the change in our lives and were very pleasantly surprised. Mr 9 had “the best schnitty burger ever!’ And I had a melt in your mouth grilled barramundi. They were also so accomodating about my allergies, answering all my questions around gluten and dairy.I can’t recommend them highly enough!!

I don't know where they have been hiding this place. Each time I have passed through Coota the past several years I've struggled to find a good cafè but today I found Helen's. It has the atmosphere of a retro diner and is great.Food was really good. They have just about every milkshake flavour, including one of my favourites, pineapple, which is so hard to find.I had and highly recommend the French toast with maple syrup and bacon, and the pineapple milkshake. Very nice. The milkshake was full to the brim and I couldn't finish it.No criticisms of the cafe. I just suggest they add omelettes to the menu (unless it's already there and I missed it.) Advice for customers. Some like crispy bacon, some like it soggy. I like crispy and what I was served was a bit soggy. I'm not criticising the cafè about this though. As I said, some like it one way and some the other. I should just have asked for the bacon to be crispy when I ordered it. Bad me.Will I be back? Absolutely.
