Sphinx Memorial to Bobbin Head loop track

It was a steep climb up to sphinx memorial from Warrimoo Track. However, it was rewarding when we finally made it up. We left too late in the day and ended up climbing the hill to the memorial by torch light from our phones. Not at all ideal with two young kids, but they thought was an adventure. I'd love to visit again during daylight!

Beautiful track. You can park inside the National park by paying a small fee. Otherwise, there is ample parking on the street outside.The track itself is relatively easy with some more difficult parts (crossing rivers or climbing up/down large slopes). It is an extremely scenic trail as you are beside the river for most of it. There is the more “rocky”/ sandy part, and then the more green/bushwalking part, separated by Bobbin Head.I’d give this walk probably a few hours (~4h) to complete comfortably, with a rest in between for lunch. In the middle (Bobbin Head) there is access to bathrooms and food if you require!

We started the other way around. We wanted to do another walk , but found that the particular track we had travelled for was closed. The lovely , helpful man at the information centre put us on to this one. Bobbin Head track was hard on a hot day. There is uphill walking along a fairly exposed fire trail, so you will definitely need your sun protection.Walked to Sphinx War Memorial, which is a 1/8th replica of the Sphinx of Gizamade by a gas affected digger. There is a shady picnic spot here. The walk back along the Sphinx trail was much more pleasant as we now meandered mostly downhill through cooler rainforest with water views . Overall moderate walk.
