It was worth the drive up from Birdsville in a single day to watch the Nostalgia Night. Brilliant venue. Comfy chairs. Excellent selection of films and history story of the theatre. Will come back out for the film festival in 2023 (already used up my 2022 holidays).

Great night! The Royal Theatre Winton is pet friendly. I am travelling with my dog, was great to be able to watch Pricilla Queen of the desert with my faithful companion. Popcorn, ice creams, sodas Fantastic memorabillia. Well done

We went to two screenings at the Royal Theatre whilst in Winton last week. The first was on a Sunday night for a screening of Quick Gun, a western movie from 1964. Our second visit was a Nostalgia Night screening where we were were shown old cinema adds and news reels and told a bit of the Theatre's history. We loved everything about the the movie theatre, hence we went twice. We reminisced over items in the museum (especially the roller skates and movie adds), we sat on deck chairs under the stars without having to worry about rain or mosquitoes, and snacked on jaffas and popcorn. The movie reel had to be changed part way through the films giving us a brief intermission, all of which added to the charm.Next time we're in Winton we will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

If you're lucky enough to be in Winton when they're screening, this is definitely a must do for your itinerary. It's like a step back in time. Open air - you can see the stars above and the stars on the screen! Sit in canvas seats and buy snacks and drinks at the candy bar. There's also a little museum with movie related displays and memorabilia

The historic Winton Open Air Cinema is a great historical piece that has been maintained well. We watched an old John Wayne movie, and took the free tour to learn more of the history of the place. Very entertaining.Screenings are typically Sunday evenings and other times, to give visitors a taste of Winton’s past.

Geraldine has first hand experience and shares her story from when she was a young girl working at the theatre for her grandfather. Amazing refurbishment to share the memories of this amazing outdoor open air theatre.
