Sir Francis Drake Motel

We stayed over Christmas. The accommodation was better than expected and there is a restaurant and pool. Very nice gardens and all rooms are on one level.

Great hotel, great service. Rooms are very spacious, well appointed, and clean. Not super modern but gorgeous nonetheless as it fits with the vibe of the place. If you get a room at the back you can see a gorgeous view of sunset and horses, if you're in to that. Also recommend the on site restaurant. Again, beautiful and picturesque, and the food was fantastic!

Huge comfortable rooms with extremely comfy beds, nice bathrooms and overall nice decor in a heat stopover location with passionate and helpful staff. Should earn more than 3 stars.

Huge room, twice the size of the one at the Hunter Oasis room we stay at on the following night. Very clean and modern. The new looking big floor tiles look great but are a bit slippery when wet.Big pool with warm water.Good restaurant but with the best calamari I've ever tasted.

Massive rooms for the price, booked last minute, rooms were spotless and the kids loved it

The Good: absolutely huge room, comfortable bed, large modern (renovated) bathroom with generously sized semi frameless shower) and decent dining area with views to the garden/pool/courtyard area. Good sized TV. Wide parking space right at the door. Central location of hotel makes it no more than 10 - 20 mins from major towns. Very friendly staff and prompt service.The Not So Good: carpet need replacement (room 33, some stains and patches replaced). A sealed adjoining door (sound proofing) would be nice (could hear neighbours chatting).Some might appreciate ye charm of ye old Sir Francis Drake decor, others might say the rooms need a general update (blinds/furniture/decor).

Easy booking over phone, got there pretty late , keys on safe, rooms are very spacious.. very clean plenty of parking infront of the unit aswell and dont even hear any highway noise. Awesome place would stay here again.

Motel is very run down. Broken furniture and attention to detail is lacking. Old dead flies in window sill. Beds were comfortable but again the making and maintenance of beds were lacking. Tattered underlining visible on beds and lounges. Rusted pool area furniture and rubbish left around. Security chain on one door didn't reach to secure. It is ashame that things that could be done at little cost are overlooked. WiFi available but no smart TV's which would have been great given we had 2 younger children. No phone to reception in room. No dishwashing liquid in kitchette... a small thing but given we booked 2 nights would have been helpful. I couldn't recommend and we wouldn't be staying again and mostly due to poor management and neglect.

Huge rooms for the price. Although the premises are quite dated it was clean and comfortable with a lovely outlook.Easy parking, space for trailers and convenient highway location makes it ideal for a night mid trip.
