Clayton Farm Heritage Museum

Well worth seeing a unique farm with heritage buildings.

Never expected so much to see and learn including a live demo by blacksmith JJ. Lots of history of the farm, farming equipment, etc. used in early 1900s. Caretakers Sheri and JJ were amazing, had excellent knowledge on each and every exhibits. Sheri walked us around the whole far, gave detailed history about the owners, history, various farm equipments and their usage, various structures on the farm along with the owners house. The house had all it's furniture, Appliances etc. neatly placed including beds, credlle and baby cots. One of them had a 120 years old doll. The gramophone and the telephone were in working condition. Also saw olden days washing machine and dryers, a kerosene operated refrigerator.One needs to spare least half a day to enjoy the tour. Thanks to Sheri and JJ for their time.

Spent a couple of hours exploring this fascinating preservation of history. Well worth a visit if you are in any way interested in how our ancestors lived.

Excellent guided tour

Took kids there to show them farm heritage museum but was unlucky as it was closed. We heard it’s open on Sunday after 1pm but it wasn’t. Someone was working in a tractor and he saw us and two other families was waiting but no one was docent enough to come say anything. We went there on Sunday and waited there from 1pm to 1.10pm.. ☹️

A wonderful piece of history preserved along the beautiful Limestone Coast. The buildings provide a glimpse into the life of those who lived here in the late 19th century, and is always a lovely place to stop at on your way to Adelaide or Melbourne. The friendly caretakers tailor their tour to your own interests, and the admission fee was surprisingly low. A truly beautiful place that is 110% worth the visit. 10/10 would recommend.

What a wonderfully preserved and maintained historic place! I have visited here several times and enjoy it every time, the people are very friendly and it is very interesting to see the original house. I highly recommend this beauty for a family outing or next time youre driving through Bordertown.
