Bamiyan Restaurant
Cooking one of the more unique cuisines in Sydney, Bamiyan does it very well. From the different rices to the curries to their amazing dumplings, Bamiyan brings you authentic and delicious Afghan food. If you have never had it before, you should try it here. The staff are attentive and friendly here and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. This place is perfect for catching up with friends.

OK - I don't normally have the time to do reviews but People - before you rush to try the food here (because your mouth was watering when you watched Food Safari) STOP! The Afghani dishes were bad! The flavours were just wrong. We spent $27.40 on Kabul rice - it was (there is no polite way to describe the flavour) disgusting! It tasted old, the serving was small (for nearly $28) and it was nothing like what you saw on TV. It really should have only cost $8-$9 not a whopping $28! What a waste of money! I am so disappointed! The rest of the food here is just average - not to mention available in most Indian/Pakistani restaurants. The dumplings... Oh Dear! Just horrible. They were watery, nasty textured little things. Buy some frozen Chinese dumplings - they are 100 times better. If you're a foodie - you will be disappointed. This was our experience anyway.The waitress was sweet.

The food here is amazing!! So delicious, my favourite was the dumplings. Actually I cant decide what I like best -- all the food is amazing and the owner of the restaurant is a great host. Its a little hard to find if you don't know it's there, but its so close to great north road its not hard to get there =)Highly recommend.

exquisite traditional afghan food. Rich but light flavours across the dishes I sampled. loved the spicy dumplings in particular. BYO allowed. Service was exceptional as well.

Afghani food? Usually I'd balk at places like these but I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. Delicious!! A lot like Indian food but better, much better! Perhaps a slight Chinese influence as well (dumplings were 9/10). I will definitely be visiting this place again. Easy to get to, on street parking and reasonably priced. A nice restaurant with a casual feel about it.

Absolutely loved it. Phenomenal experience, both culinary and culturally. Learnt so much about Afghanistan and the Bamiyan region from the family run restaurant whilst savoring a beautiful array of curries (mellow spice) and flavors. Definitely recommended.

We had a wonderful mother's day lunch at Bamiyan today. The food was outstanding; fresh, cooked to order and delicious. A subtle and nuanced blend of spices infused all the dishes we chose to eat and none of the them were burdened with too much salt. Our waiter, Assan, was attentive, warm and generous. Thank you, we will be back.

An interesting dining experience though took AGES to order our food. There seemed to be a wide variety of dishes though I found two of the dishes ordered tasted exactly the same when it had slightly different ingredients. Their lentils dish is fantastic though.
