This used to be my go to place for Schnitty burgers, 1 burger and a can of soft drink for $8.90 or two burgers for $14 (no drink) was hard to beat in the Illawarra considering competitors would charge $10+ for the same combo. And the team here knew how to cook a schnitzel, had it down to a science, cooked perfectly every time. I had tried other items on their menu but nothing was as good as their Schnitty burgers.Admittedly I had stopped coming here for a couple of months but after returning I was disappointed to see the OG staff appear to have moved on and the current crew working have made changes to the menu and the quality of the burgers have gone down hill, burnt bun, under cooked chicken and a total shame they jacked their prices up and got rid of the free drink, I understand inflation means costs have to go up but to get rid of the free drink combo is a let down.Will be hard to return, if I am desperate for a burger I might come back but now their prices are on par with others take away shops in the area they have lost their edge on quality food for a reasonable price.

We were camping at Coledale Beach and we're looking for some fish and chip goodness for one night.Nothing was open nearby so we ended up having to go further afield which led us to Chris' Takeaway.I will caveat this review by saying don't take this shop in first impressions otherwise you will never eat there.It's not the cleanest shop (hence the 4 stars).What I will say is, if you want reasonably priced fish and chips this is the palace for you.The two guys behind the counter are friendly and quick to set you up with what you need.We bought the family seafood basket with some extra fish and it was all really good and nicely cooked.Will go back for sure.
