Camping Area, Mitchell River

Lovely spot for camping by the river. Lots of roos at dusk and early morning. Wombat burrows everywhere! Excellent drop dunnies, best I’ve ever used. Thanks Parks Victoria!

Had a great trip the area is so beutifull and tranquil camped near the river glad I have had the chance to camp here will be back again

Love this cap ground. Saw heaps of kangaroos either near camp or somewhere close. Toilets were very clean and not smelly. Plenty of room for campers.

Lovely quite camping ground with toilets.

This was such a beautiful camp ground. Plenty of room for very large caravans and groups. Firepits and wood accessible on the side of the track half way down to the camp ground on the left with a sign on the tree stating access for firewood. Toilet blocks are compostable and very clean. Great mowed walking tracks to show access into beautiful river rocky beaches for swimming. Great place for kids.No Dogs and No cutting trees in campground as it is National Park.

Well kept. It was freshly mowed and the toilets were clean. Many, many kangaroo's. The river was high like they all are at the moment.

This place is a hidden gem in Victoria, very good, clean free camping groundDrop toilet was clean when we were there, lot of camping areas, walking distance to river. Evidence of wombats, but saw none Plenty of kangaroos. We were lucky to see a deer and emu, they were too quick for lazy eyes.- No mobile reception- No electricity- No drinking water, apart from river water. I am still alive to write this, so river water is safe after boiling- Miles away from all shops. So pack up & top up fuelPlease take all your rubbish home & surprise to see, we still got selfish people not caring for nature and leaving beer cans & bottles left all over the placesEnjoy this place and leave nothing behind

Lovely free campground, 16km off the main road. Heaps of space, lots of sites to choose from, well maintained longdrop toilets and the nearby river. Lots of kangaroos and wombats. Beware camping out in the open field in windy weather, it really sweeps through.
