The Reef House Restaurant
The place is getting a little dated and its starting to show. Rust and rotten timbers are evident everywhere, but the staff and restaurant are great. There are so many inclusions with packages, you will not be disappointed. Sorbet by the pool at 3pm, punch at 5pm, yoga, aqua aerobics and a great breakfast. Bikes to borrow, spa, pools, massage, parking, reef and cultural talks. Your days will be full of things to do. Dinner is fantastic

I recently had a fantastic stay at the Reef House in Palm Cove. The welcome by the staff was lovely, especially Cédric,, and made us feel immediately at home. I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the hotel, and thoughtful touches that had been put into the decor and amenities. The veranda room was great, very comfortable, with lovely views of the tropical gardens and easy access to the pool. One of my favorite parts of my stay was spending time by both of the pools - it was so peaceful, and had great poolside service for cocktails and food. The 3pm sorbet was a definite highlight, as was the 5pm canapes and punch. The restaurant was good, and its lovely aspect looking across to the beach is a beautiful way to start and finish the day. The included activities are fun - Joel was a great host of the cocktail-making class (with professional tips and tricks - and two great cocktails to enjoy during the class), and Sean gave a wonderful cultural talk (including lots of laughs). Palm Cove itself is a quiet little beach town, it has enough amenities for anything you need, without being heavily touristy. Overall, my stay at the Reef House was wonderful, and recommend for people looking for a beautiful getaway.

The most amazing staff ever encountered. From the minute we arrived greeted by Cedric with a refreshing towelette and freshly made chilled juice to which we could add a specialised local gin. To the moment we left and found a breakfast box in our room for our early departure. The restaurant staff are exceptional, they are friendly and want to make your experience the best ever, which it was.The facilities are excellent location wonderful. Absolutely a dream accommodation.

Fantastic service from every single staff. The inclusions were amazing and the hotel went beyond to help us celebrate a special event.I was slightly concerned to see some reviews saying the facilities were outdated however I enjoyed the colonel vibe of the hotel.

We really enjoyed our dinner.The menu is a sort of set menu of 2 or 3 courses. However, you did have quite a choice of mains and entrees.Note there is also a separate vegetarian menu.location was great with a lovely outlook.It is adults only, so it was nice to leave the kids at home.All up a very enjoyable evening.

My partner and I recently had our honeymoon here and it was honestly fantastic. The reef house is in perfect location and the service was spot on. The activities within the hotel were awesome and just so much fun. The pools and the rooms were perfect and gave it such a luxurious coastal retreat feel. We are looking at going back to the reef house in the future

Lots of good to say about The Reef House. Location is superb, no children aloud, pools and facilities are sensational.Whilst the staff were very personable and friendly, the service standard was less than fantastic. Forgotten orders, long delays in getting orders once ordered, antiquated order methods for beside pool dining.This place is really suited to older people. We were by far and large the youngest people there. We made great friendships with some of the older couples which was awesome, although some felt they needed to complain about us and that we were a bit rowdy.At any rate we had a fantastic time and enjoy the entire area.

The hotel is in a prime position, with great views, and adults only. The two pools and spas provide for plenty of relaxation. The residence is not new, and has retained its charm of times past, with little touches such as an honesty bar, where you simply leave your room number on a chit with what you've consumed. Some would say I'm being harsh, but I believe the hotel definitely deserves the full four stars. There are few minor things which I believe don't quite make it a five star hotel. However, this is a beautiful hotel with a fabulous view.I would commend any visitors to hire a car at the airport, and drive to the hotel, as an Uber/taxi is quite expensive, and you'll be limited in terms of range. There's underground secure parking also. With your own steed you'll be able to visit Mossman Gorge, and the ever wonderful Port Douglas.I have singled out one person who made the holiday special...Ms Michelle Murray. A thoroughly professional, polite, and knowledgeable person, if only all hotels has a Ms Murray. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her application of knowledge, and customer service unrivaled. A truly wonderful person.

Reef House offers a wonderful warm experience. The staff are always happy and happy to help, and they are sincere in their dealings with guests. It’s a stones throw from the water with great walking paths and lots of activities for singles, couples and holidaying with friends. The restaurant is fantastic as well. Go for a holiday you won’t be disappointed.
