The Crocodile Hunter Lodge

This place is such a gem! It may seem silly to go to a zoo to get away, but suspend your disbelief for a moment and spend a few nights here. The lodging and grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Driving in, kangaroos are grazing in front of the lobby. If your lucky you’ll even see a Joey poking it’s head out of its moms pouch! The lodging is so much more than we expected—beautiful, roomy, and thoughtfully designed. After a day of at the zoo, a shuttle takes you back to the lodge where you can relax in the infinity pool overlooking a wooded area with more kangaroos, emus, and koalas. Then grab a delicious dinner at Warrior. After an amazing night’s sleep, enjoy a delicious breakfast before beginning your next day. The price seems steep at first, but when you look at everything that’s included, it really is an amazing price.

Wonderful experience at this world class facility. The lodge we stayed in was tastefully decorated and appointed to a very high standard. The infinity pool was stunning with the animals right there beside the pool, which is such a unique experience! Would have loved to stay longer if time permitted.

Absolutely loved our stay at this most precious gem, surrounded by such natural beauty, the cabin was immaculate and the decor just beautiful. Everything had thoughtfulness behind it from the books throughout the rooms, to the freshly ground coffee and brownies ❤️ The pool was spectacular, I enjoyed watching the Roos while sipping a delicious cocktail and breakfast was delicious , the service was outstanding and I highly recommend this to all, it’s a beautiful iconic bit of Australia done with class and thought would love to come back , my kids absolutely loved it

My Dream vacation, was going to be 2 nights turned out to be 4 , never wanted to leave ! The gorgeous grounds with amazing animals, the bird’s singing and the kangaroos in your backyard is just the icing on the cake. The luxury cabins are divine, the food is amazing and so fresh. They haven’t even celebrated one year yet and already have the best little resort in the world, but the reason why ? The STAFF ! Wonderful people, hands down most friendliest, thoughtful and genuine! We were treated like royalty, the sweetest staff at the desk the bright smiles at the bar , a smile and wave even from the cook, the shuttle to the most amazing zoo in the world! The cozy town of Beerwah, if you want some fresh local flowers stop in at Fleur Emporium.The manager was so down to earth and genuine at the Lodge we had no idea he was in charge, even the staff out on the grounds were friendly and smiling, what a cozy beautiful place to visit and see the real side to Australia! I am well travelled and this rare gem will be a returning visit guaranteed! Thank you to all the staff at the Lodge, you made my welcome to Australia a beautiful memory that won’t soon fade.

We only stayed one night and we wish we would of stayed 2 nights. The room was incredible for my family of 4. The area around the lodge was such a awesome experience, the pool with the kangaroos and even the wild kangaroos out front where amazing. We hope to be able to come back from all the way from the United States!!

I normally don’t write reviews but this place deserves an amazing one. We stayed 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The facilities and rooms were amazing. We were welcomed by Claire and she went above and beyond to show us around and interact with my 3 year old. Ash was so helpful and lovely and bubbly Kate was so kind. The restaurant and pool area was so beautiful and peaceful and looked out onto wildlife.Jason was incredible and drove us to the zoo. He walked us in and made sure we knew where to go and was so lovely and helpful.This zoo/lodge experience was unforgettable and they really do have it all to make it a magic stay.The food was 5 star and they handled all requests - nothing was ever too hard :)

The service is impeccable. The cabins are luxurious. The restaurant is top notch. I think they should add a charcuterie platter to the menu to pair with wine by the pool. Loved the private shuttle to the park. Loved the infinity pool overlooking kangaroos, koalas, and emus. Highly recommend. The shuttle bus driver and the front desk gave us the best service we received in Australia.

We had such an amazing time. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The cabins are very clean with everything you would need for your stay. We enjoyed our evening swim with the kangaroos, emus and koalas near by. Our complementary breakfast was so delicious with good portions. During the stay we spent our day at Australia zoo. Everything about our stay was perfect. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for our amazing stay.

The Crocodile Hunter Lodge is quiet with only 12 cabins. The cabins are beautifully appointed with all the mod cons. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely and serene overlooking the infinity pool and the kangaroos, koalas and emus. It is well worth having an early breakfast to watch the kangaroos, koalas and emus being fed. All of the staff were professional and friendly going above and beyond. Special note to our waiter Daniel who ensured all our needs were met. He knew the menu and anything he didn’t know he sought clarification from the chef. For a young person he was very attentive and polite, introducing himself and remembering our names throughout our stay. Highly recommend the Lodge!
