Ordered small chips tought $7 a bit rich but when I took them home I realised it was great value as most shops that call this order would call it a medium size great chips thanks

This had been the best fish & chips shop in the area for decades. Always very expensive but had the quality to match the cost. New ownership has brought with it some changes .. And they aren't good.The flake and burgers are still good. Same as under previous ownership. I suspect the old owner/worker still being there has something to do with that.But they have cut corners elsewhere. The potato cakes are now an abomination. Gone are the delicious potato cakes with fresh batter, replaced with $1.20 pre-bought frozen versions that are rock hard & unpalatable. Their home made veggie spring rolls just tasted wrong. They were not eatable & possibly the worst I've ever had, anywhere.When you can't eat half the food you order, the place is a failure. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

I love fish and chips and I've tried almost every fish and chip shop in the Eastern suburbs and this is by far the best. The quality of the fish, and the portion and filet they use is the best. The batter is not excessive either.Can't recommend more highly!

Best fish and chip place we’ve found! Fried flake is light, crunchy and the fish is beautifully cooked! Only once did we have a problem when they served flake half the thickness on Good Friday, so batter was double the thickness of the fish and was very over cooked. That’s been the only time we’ve had issues.

It's been three years since my first review. This place has gone downhill so much. The fried fish is still good, but the chips are always soggy, the calamari rings have too much batter that is never cooked (because of how thick it is), and the calamari itself is overcooked as evidenced by how rubbery and difficult to chew it is. The scallops were soggy, and of the two scallops I ordered, the batter for both had gotten soggy due to moisture (perhaps water from the scallop?) and the scallops had directly fried in the oil.This was a horrible experience and I currently feel sick writing this review due to all the oil everywhere (calamari was oily, battery, and overcooked, and scallops had a few small pools of oil).Original Review (4*): Consistently good quality fish and chips, but the price is rather high, but given the quality of the fish and chips, it is worth it.

Proper traditionally prepared fish n chips with ever-changing display of fresh sea food and accompanying tasty food items. Stavros and the team offer beautifully cooked seafood at very reasonable prices.Try it....you won't be disappointed.

Have ordered fish and chips from this service twice in the last 3 weeks.On the first occasion the order was mixed up and I was overcharged about $10. Fortunately I wasn’t shy to ask to double-check on my order at the counter and the matter was resolved. I didn’t mind, mix-ups happen, no big deal!But today, the same teenager who was taking the order in the phone the first time, did it again. What’s particularly frustrating, is when making the order I specifically corrected him and repeated that I need “three barramundi” twice… only to find 2 fish fillets when I got home. Which, apart from the fact that we didn’t have enough fish in the order, also means that I was overcharged again.I’m getting my fish and chips across the square from now on.The chips were super-dry and tasteless on both occasions anyway. Grilled Barra was good, to be fair.

Not bad dim sims - both steamed and fried. Plenty hot enough.Staff were friendly and considering it was a busy night, the order was taken quickly and food cooked properly. Have tried battered flake from here which was okay.Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Reasonable parking outside.

Best local fish and chips shop around. Chips are always perfectly golden and delicious. Burgers and fish fantastic. Friendly staff, can highly recommend! Perfect easy meal for the family when you can't be bothered cooking.
