Another fantastic experience at The Botanic Wine Garden. Joel and the team always deliver. The harissa chicken was amazing (best chicken ever!!) topped off the night with a mushroom vol-au-vent, so good!! PS. The margaritas are the best in town!!

Great place with amazing fresh and tasty food. Highly recommended to visit and enjoy the flavours of the chef's. Very friendly staff, great attention, fast service, nice music and atmosphere. And above all the food is just perfect. Had the tasty chicken and some gnocchi, both delicious. More than 5stars to all the lovely people who run this place!

We were so happy with our whole dining experience here tonight. Some of the best food we have eaten in a long time. We had the olives, prosciutto, harissa chicken, tomato salad and spiced apple pavlova an excellent Pinot Noir and it was all so WOW! WOW! We will need to plan our trips around being able to eat here.

I’ll start with saying the food was good, we shared a few dishes and each matched the menu description. Also the light music and outside seating was great for the warm summer evening. However, and what drops the score to a 3 is a few real deal breakers. First we had a booking for a family of 4 and eating at 5.30 (so there was only one other seated couple on arrival). We were seated at the high table (see other reviews for more about the implications of this) which meant the kids had to sit on one side of the table only and the adults even had an extra challenge eating from standard sized seats. However the bigger problem comes from the fact that whilst they have no kids menu, whilst we were eating we saw other tables with kids meals - at the end of the meal we queried this and they have a hidden kids menu!! Disappointed they didn’t tell us earlier as the kids struggled with the adult styled meals.Bill time also brought another oddity. We said we’d share all the meals so they had (without telling us) increased the chicken wings to 1.25. Fine, I get that, but they still treated it as starter/main rather than brining all dishes out at once.So i’ll put it mostly down to poor communication (and I’ll take some of that myself).Last comment is that many reviews talk about a great smoked cocktail - however the barman (and owner) had now become the chef and for some unknown reason won’t train his bar staff to make it, and therefore if you were hoping to try it…you are out of luck

Definitely not the same experience we had last time we dined here. The food was underseasoned and average. The 'Sesame Fries' were obviously store-bought frozen chips with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. For $13??The wine list had definitely changed. It was one page. I was looking through the menu, certain I must have missed the rest, but no - one page of wines. Last time, there was an outstanding selection of wines, including organic and unique bottles.Very disappointing for a place titled 'Botanic Wine Garden'.The service was fine and the waitstaff were pleasant.

Excellent and knowledgeable staff. The young bar man was brilliant, he made beautiful cocktails and was very friendly. The food is over priced. I had the squid, it was far too salty, yet perfectly cooked. The cheese platter was nice, as was the chicken and pork belly.Great selection of unique cocktails, I recommend the corpse reviver.

One of my favourite places to eat in Port! The food is always good, the cocktails hit the spot. It wouldBe nice if they changed up the menu every now and then but none the less.
