The Anchor Spencer
The old General Store has been completely revamped into the Anchor by the new owners. It has very nice seating inside and out. Great for large groups. And the perfect place to stop if you are riding or driving through this countryside. A small menu, priced well. A bottle shop and bakery.I hope new toilets are on the way. The porta toilets are a let down.

We stayed in Spencer for the weekend and had amazing coffees over the weekend and a lovely lunch on Sunday afternoon. Trent the owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure our toddler was well looked after too. Food and coffees were delicious - the guys particularly liked the roast beef rolls. Great tables and atmosphere in the sunshine by the water listening to a wonderful singer on the wharf.

Fantastic experience, great service, amazing staff, beautiful location. A few friends and I stopped here for brunch while on a leisurely Sunday morning motorbike ride, and I was so impressed by how hospitable the owners/staff were. The food was delicious, and truly somewhere highly recommended!

Stopped here while staying on Glenworth Valley with my partner. Had a hot chocolate & some hot chippies. Everything was great and the prices were very reasonable. Serving sizes were very generous. The staff were really nice and had excellent service. Lovely to sit outside & take it all in, across from the river!It’s also connected with a small grocery store, I bought some tooth paste & local honey! Forgot my toothpaste for the weekend & luckily they had it here so we didn’t have to drive very far to buy some.

We had a great time here having a late lunch when visiting on a house boat. The owner was so lovely and picked us up with boat and dropped us back after we’d eaten. The food was delicious (would recommend the pork belly and cauliflower) and the staff so kind and helpful. Thank you so much for having us! :)

Riding solo on my classic Honda vf 750 and came across this little cafe. The staff were super friendly and more importantly the coffee was good. To top it off there was a female singer/guitarist on a barge performing her own material. She was very good.

My girlfriends and I were staying at Spencer for the weekend and drove past this place on our way to the accommodation.We visited the place for lunch and it was AMAZING.The ambience was superb given that the sun was out and waterside dining.The staff were super helpful and welcoming.The food was great, I had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon and the chips serving was GENEROUS.There was also a live band playing (don't have a picture) but we just enjoyed our time there.Highly recommend to anyone visiting Spencer - The Hub of the Universe as they say!

The old Spencer general store has had a revamp and it’s a bit more upmarket.You can still sit by the river and have a burger though so it’s well worth a stop.
