Very happy, as soon as i paid the deposit they began working on my fence within the week (maybe i got lucky).Adam and Hayley were both great and helped us find exactly what we needed to get the perfect fence for our house and did so at a reasonable price and stuck exactly to the quotation which we had been worried about before getting the fence built.

Do not use this company to get your fence done. First they ripped down our fence over 4 weeks ago and we still dont have a fence . The first time they built it was completely wrong so now they are replacing the pickets . Massive gaps in notches made in posts ...posts not level or straight . The owner is not contact able at all. His voice mail says hes on holidays till mid novemeber and will not be checking his messages. Just a warning for all out there. Update : I advise any sane person not to use this company for any business they are rude and leave you with no fence for months and months at a time .

Absolutely terrible avoid this company, inexperienced and don't stand by their work. This is an actual review from a paying customer. We have had a terrible experience with Adam Dennis, his partner Hayley and their company, Melbourne Heritage Fencing. They asked for a 50 percent deposit up front for our front fence, automatic gates and side gates, we paid the deposit but the week they were supposed to start, they were uncontactable. Numerous messages were left which went unanswered.Considering his facebook page says that messages will be replied to in a day, we were very concerned when we were ignored considering he had our 50 percent deposit. After many unanswered messages, I posted my concerns on social media. This received a response from Hayley and the work commenced in late May after further delays. We were advised by Hayley that the job should take two weeks, it is now late July and the work is still not complete, some eight weeks later. There were only about three days delay due to weather, although on numerous occassions weather was blamed. There were numerous excuses used about delays including materials being out of stock, illness etc. It later become evident that Adam was seriously distracted by personal, legal family issues. Before the work commenced we advised Adam that we hadn't decided whether to go all the same size pickets or a combination of thin and thick pickets, he said this was fine as he hadn't finalised the materials order, and was likely to be cutting down the pickets himself anyway to create the thinner pickets. Towards, in his view, the job being completed, we were hit with a variation for restocking materials which we were originally told were out of stock, hence the delays. When we asked for an invoice to support this variation, Adam supplied a heavily redacted invoice so the amounts were not varifiable. In response, I offered to settle the variation for 50 percent of the claim which he quickly accepted, we were obviously being ripped off.Adam left our site with posts not concreted in the ground, just stuck in holes in the ground not secured at all. This front fence boarders a nature strip and posed a risk to those walking by as these heavy 6 ft tall posts weren't secure, let alone the risk of them being stolen. We had to pull the posts out of the holes and store them down the side of the house.Later when Adam went to attach the gates to our stone clad, newly built pillars, he drilled through wiring which has now resulted in expensive electrical work to rectify the wiring issues. Adam was advised of where the wiring was and where to drill, however when the gates required additonal hinge support, he drilled in to the pillars without consulting with us or our electrician. Adam is now denying any responsibility for the electrical fault. We have had a licenced, independent A grade electrician who wired our newly built house come out to assess and he has determined that the fault is due to drilling in to the wiring. We have withheld an amount from Adams final invoice equal to our electrican's estimate to rectify the electrical wiring fault, which now requires boring under driveways or trenching, we tried to work with Adam to investigate his preferred wiring solution which started late last week however now Adam has dumped our job in the middle of this fix, our electrican believes Adam has dumped our job because he can't get his preferred wiring fix to work.We have texts from Adam acknowledging his faulty workmanship in particular, one of the posts that the driveway gate is attached to has been laminated together and is faulty, as is the mechanical work for the driveway gates. The gates blow open in the wind, don't fully shut properly or open correctly.Adam was going to replace the faulty laminted post this week but has now demanded the money we have withheld from him first without the electrical work being fixed, or his faulty workmanship being rectified.

Adam and the staff at Melbourne Heritage Fencing where fantastic, reliable and very easy to communicate with. From the second I requested a quote to the finished product I was informed and kept up to date, step by step. I can’t thank them enough not only for this but for the quality of workmanship.

Adam was a delight to deal with and was extremely helpful, very good eye when it came to the smallest details. Followed up with a call a week after the fence/gate was finished just to make sure all needs were met 10/10 for service

Notice the number of positive reviews posted to counteract a negative one? We hope that no one has to experience what we have with this company.. When we recently posted a review on our terrible experiences with this company, within hours of our post, the owner of the company or his staff posted numerous positive reviews to counteract our true review of our experiences with this company. We are now taking further action to have Adam rectify his faulty workmanship or reimburse us for the significant amount of money we will have to pay to have another fencer come and fix up his work. We have consulted with Victorian authorities and they have clearly advised that Adam has not fulfilled his obligations. Yesterday, on a very windy Melbourne Day, once again, our front driveway gates just blew open leaving our property insecure. The whole purpose for installing driveway gates and a front fence is to help keep your property secure. Seeing your gates just blow open in the wind is very disappointing. The gates he has installed are not fit for purpose, nor did he supply any of the warranty information or instruction manuals. Furthermore, to save himself money, he has laminated together a cracked post which the heavy driveway gate hangs off. Adam has admitted it needs to be replaced on text message but now won't replace it until we pay him the money we are withholding until these problems are fixed. Who knows, if we pay him, we probably won't see him again. We have had to find the gate automation company who supplied the mechanical hinges, contact them and ask why our gates are blowing open. It appears that there is an magnetic lock add on which Adam should have supplied, he gave us some story that this magnetic add on is only for corporate use. What this really shows is that Adam doesn't know what he is doing nor is prepared to do the job properly. We are now getting a technician supplied by the automation company to come out and fix Adam's work. Any contractor who doesn't stand by their work after they have acknowledged that there are problems with it should be avoided, so should any contractor who demands final payment before he has fixed the problems with his own work. When Adam believed the work was originally finished he demanded payment of his invoice the day he finished before we had an opportunity to inspect his work. We declined payment based on our need to inspect the work and when we did we found the side gates had been installed illegally, he had hung them off the boundary fence rather than concreting in a post for the gate to hang off. He didn't seem to know that hanging a gate off a boundary fence is not only illegal, it compromises the stability of the fence, a fence which is also owned by the neighbours, as well as the gate. When we asked him to rectify, he told us that he hadn't allowed for posts. We responded by saying that at a minimum the work should be legally compliant which it wasn't. After Adam rectified a number of defects with the work, we paid the invoice withholding the amount to rectify the damaged electrical cabling. Adam and his staff, without our permission posted images of our property including video on social media, some of these images contained our address. The response given by Adam to Shane's negative review on google isn't true, Adam has had the business since 2017 if you check company registers. He talks about 30 years experience in fencing, the bloke is only in his mid 30's. We were fed that many untruths during this process that we don't believe anything that comes from Adam anymore.
