Feel the ghosts, see the ghosts, of this amazing mine... A testament to the hard working Cornish miners doing what nobody else could. Run by an amazing team of volunteers.

We had such a great day in Blinman and doing the mine tour. Duncan was so knowledgeable, kind and engaging for us and our kids. Highly recommend visiting the mine to not only learn about the mines and Blinman history but to support the town and volunteers.

Duncan - our guide did an awesome job showing us through the Blinman Mine.Definitely recommend going underground to truly appreciate the size of the mine and conditions of the miners back in the day.Great historical experience and even better knowing it is run by the town and all proceeds of the tour go towards its upkeep etc.A must see for all ages

Our guide was one of the many volunteers caring for and running the old mine.Blinman exists outside of any local government boundary, so the local community association had to do all it can to raise funds needed for basic services for the town and surrounding district. After many years of hard work, the closed-down mine has become a tourist attraction, and a source of income for the community. When you visit here, you're not boosting the profits of a business. You're providing services, building playgrounds, and keeping the town alive in a very direct way.The tour itself is a very interesting look at mining methods and the life of the miners and their families. The influence of the Cornish mining community is very strong, and still felt today. The stories told by our guide (with additional light and sound effects) we're a great way to learn what happened back when the mine was active.Well worth the visit. Take time to enjoy a self guided walk around the area also.During the tourist season (cooler months of the year) you can pick up a traditional Cornish pastie at the shop.Do book first to be sure of a place. You cannot join the tour after it has begun.

Well worth a visit, gives you very interesting insights into early copper mining and the hardships endured by the mine workers. The guide was superb and knowledgeable. The old cottage in the town can also be visited and provides a fascinating glimpse of life in those pioneering days. Blinman is highly recommended.
