For $227 per night for the heritage suite, I set my expectations way too high.Private balcony is not private. It is shared with other patrons. No mini bar.No breakfast.Run down hotel with smelly rooms.Peeling paint everywhere.Only go to this Hotel if you are desperate for a roof over your head.Bitterly disappointed.Ripped off.

Great little hotel, right next to the train line, so you can watch the Steam Ranger train. Great meals and they do pensioner sized meals. I've been 3 times now and I'll be going back in the near future.

The most over priced underwhelming food experience I have ever had. This establishment needs a lesson in customer service and pricing. It almost requires the chefs to go back to cooking school. Punctuality is not their forte. Arrived at 12pm ordered 4 meals, thinking we would be able to catch the 1.30pm cockle train on a weekday. The meals only arrived at 1.20pm - over an hour after we ordered. With four people standing behind the bar, I still waited over 5 minutes to be served - I was the only one at the bar. It actually took a waitress to arrive to get someone who could actually serve to serve me. Dissatisfied and disappointed doesn’t quite sum it up. A well meaning and hungry customer.

Very overpriced for the quality of food received.Singapore noodles with chicken was very basic and no flavour.6 hour cooked lamb was thinly sliced, dry and tough. When I complained about the lamb to staff, I was told 'sorry'Won't be returning

I spent a night here in a single room. The bed was comfortable, the facilities were not new (it is an old hotel) but were clean. I had a fridge, TV and even had a couple of biscuits to go with the supplied tea and coffee sachets. No view from my room, but an easy walk to the beach and a verandah downstairs where people can sit and watch the world go by, with a little something from the café.I was warned that because it is an old hotel, WiFi can be patchy but was welcome to sit downstairs if I wanted good wifi. As it happened, I had a good signal and it worked well on some sites but disconnected me a lot on others.

A stunning old building, but elements of the dinner was disappointing - being seated on the couch despite their appearing to be plenty of ample tables, the oilyness of the haloumi burger, and, while not being a greek cheese expert, 99.9% sure the Saganaki starter was just haloumi! They don't miss with their prices either. Might have just been a bad night.

Easy and friendly check in. Room absolutely lovely with beautiful views. Private balcony overlooking the water was amazing.Loads of character and a good feel".Bar and bistro look great.Would definitely rebook the room we had (room 26 spa room)."

It was great to come out on the balcony to sit and watch the water. We also sat and watched the bowls competition across the road.Only draw back no lift so elderly had to lug their luggage up stairs. Also rooms are small and basic plus had to go out of our rooms to use the bathroom although only we could use the bathrooms, they were locked for only our rooms use.Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and it would be a good idea if the hotel could give some information on what was on around town at night as we decided the town all went to bed at 8pm, the most entertainment we had was watching 3 young drunk guy's across the road in the park.Have to say wherever we decided to eat the food was fantastic.

Very disappointing recent visit here. Don’t know if it has changed hands but the menu has doubled in price and the meals were not enjoyable. I had a completely flavourless Singapore noodle salad, just no flavour with some fresh mint leaves stirred through, I can’t honestly believe that was intentional. My partner had a deconstructed yiros, the portion size was so stingy and again completely devoid of flavour, but they charge lid over $30 bucks!Just embarrassing and shocking that they consider that acceptable for those prices. This used to be only place we would consider eating out at in Victor, not anymore, or maybe relegated to our “country pub” expectation, so don’t order anything but a snitzel or burger you might have more luck

Our stay at the Anchorage was perfect! We only stayed one night but we were welcomed and well taken care of. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, even after we had checked out: providing a warm fire to sit by while it rained outside.Loved the nautical aesthetic and good amenities.
