Old Gordon Cemetery

Wow, covered three cemeteries in one day by pure chance. I’m intrigued by cemeteries and having explored my family tree adds to the mystery.The Old Gordon Cemetery you could easily drive right by as there the signage is minimal - and justified because there id only one grave left here.I snapped pictures of the graves that are listed on the board at the entrance. Heart breaking! So many little ones dying at weeks or months of age. The only tombstone left is of Thomas Geddies dying at age 35 in 1859, one of the oldest. The oldest by age was Rose Alexander at aged 69.The one that broke my heart was Thomas Thomas (yes not a typo) died 7 hours.A time to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in the 21st century.Good parking. Toilet block on site. Picnic tables as well.
