Lakshmi Indian Takeaway and Kebabs

Web site said they were open 4:30 to 9pm Sunday. Travelled some distance to find the notice on the front door showing the same hours but they were closed at 5:30 with no sign of opening

Two Star review because I'm feeling generous. Kebab is supposed to be hot. It was cold. Even the grated cheese (which has no place in a kebab) was still powdery rather than melted. Why put cheese in it if it never gets to the temperature to melt? Just awful. You've got a grill right there, use it. It needs 5 minutes to heat the thing through. Pay attention to the feedback here, I'm not the only one complaining about your awful kebabs.

Worst Indian I have ever tasted , Rice was over cooked all the dishes tasted the same terrible square cut chicken !!!! Will never buy again !!! Service is poor I called them serival times no Answer!!!

Excellent fresh naan and decent butter chicken. The large size curry is more than enough for 2 people when combined with rice and naan.

This place used to be really good. But my experiences recently have been terrible. Today as soon as we pulled up right infront of the shop, the man working nearly shut the door on my partner and I before we even got out of the car. And they seemed to not have had customers for hours. The food in the hotbar was old and crusted. And the kebab meat was cold and so was the whole kebab. It was prepared horribly and wrapped in a way that as soon as i opened it, it all fell apart. The only good thing about this visit was the samosas and spring rolls that were sitting in the hotbar for who knows how long. The time before this, my partner was standing at the door waiting for them to open up and the owners stood behind the counter and stared at him until he left. This is horrible service and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. Drive the extra to Charlestown or even Lake Munmorah before I ever go back here.

Always buy my naan here I deliver and the back is clean you could eat off the floor food always good

Just a nice little takeaway restaurant that you can also eat in if you want that option. Just got back from eating with my family. Place was very clean and guy who served us was patient and friendly. Naan was good. I had the dhal and it was good but not spicy enough imo which is all up to your own tastes. A medium serve was pretty big, definitely enough for dinner and would be more than enough for lunch

Walked in and out of the shop 2 times contemplating eating here. After thinking we might as well because we were starving. The kebabs were absolutely cold. She put it on the press but it was still cold. I would consider heating the meat up on the grill before putting in on the wrap.I’m also confused on why you don’t sell chips?

Visitor to this area in my boat. I prefer these Indian takeaways where you can see what you are selecting. Had beef vindaloo hot, spinach & potato med hot & chicken curry med hot. All very good & good value at $14.40 for large size container with rice. Would definitely go back.

Glad I found Indian food in Newcastle.Prices are decent for basic Indian food like Daa, Roti, Chawal, Shahi paneer etc.Ask the staff if you want more spicy food.
