Aged Care Training Services
I studied the Cert. IV in Ageing Support with Aged Care Training Services between June 2018-March 2019. Even though I enjoyed the course thoroughly, I do regret choosing ACTS as my training provider. The best and only positive side to my experience were the trainers. During the course of my studies, I had two trainers and both of them were very supportive and inspirational. They came into the classroom with a wealth of experience. On their own, they fully deserved a rating of 11/10.Unfortunately, the trainers were evidently lacking support from their head office. On more then several occasions, the trainers had to spend class time on the phone sorting out the cumbersome training schedule created by administrative staff. I paid for the course so that I could learn, and for the trainers to do training. Not spending class time fixing the mess created by somebody else in an office in Carrum Downs. The experience of dealing with ACTS administrative staff also left a lot to be desired. Often they would promise a call-back, but won't deliver on their promises. That is on top of issuing students with incorrect paperwork, incorrect training schedule and even losing paperwork. Furthermore, our training facility was at the local RSL which was not appropriate for any type of aged care training. Was only good enough for basic classroom learning.I paid twice for the course; $680 out of my own pocket, and the rest through the tax system. For the amount of money paid, I strongly believe the experience should have been so much better. Especially with the administrative staff. I'm just relieved that I've completed the course in a timely manner, and not carrying on with their Leisure and Health course.
