We visited this restaurant while on a band school tour in Tasmania and it was amazing. All of the performers were super talented and nice, the atmosphere was very welcoming. Considering that they were short staffed and our group was very large, the food was great, the staff were really accommodating and meals were brought out fairly quickly. There’s just so much I loved about this place I can’t summarise it, would highly recommend definitely check them out.

The Duke team were short staffed on this occasion and there were two birthdays in play, so not easy. However, the Friday band, Bona Vista Trio were jazz plus fun, food was great, took a while ordering drinks and for food to arrive but there was no hurry and the vibe was lively. People had collectively big smiles on dials. I like this family run venue, you're never going to be overly surprised but it is unpretentious. Live music. Pool table. Food. Good selection of beers, wines n spirits. Plenty of accessible parking, short walk from Hobart CBD & pleasant patrons and staff.

Wonderful pub/restaurant in the heart of Hobart. I went there specifically for the live music, which was awesome, but the food was also outstanding ! I highly recommend their lamb shoulder. It’s super tasty and fills you up really well ! The staff was more than friendly and made this experience memorable.

My friend and I are traveling from Perth. The service was great. Very friendly people. I loved the dog cuddles! The onion rings were amazing. However the lamb was chewy and hard, not a nice flavour and full of fat. We could barely eat it. I don’t know if it was a bad night for that particular dish as I’ve read the reviews for it previously. But we weren’t happy with that meal. Don’t like to leave bad reviews usually but I think feedback helps the restaurant know where to improve. Other than that we had no issues.

I recently visited this restaurant to perform in the khhs big band. The place had a great atmosphere and the staff were lovely. They were incredibly welcoming, had great energy and were really encouraging and accommodating to us players. We also got to watch and even perform with some other really fantastic professional musicians. I would really recommend going to one of their ‘jazz jam’ nights if you get the chance for some amazing live music. The restaurant also did a great job catering to a large and difficult group. If I ever come back to Hobart, this place is definitely on my list.

My daughter and I dined here tonight. I booked mainly due to the positive reviews as we are here on holiday from Melbourne. We couldn’t have been more disappointed. We arrived at 6.00pm on a Saturday evening, no atmosphere at all. Only one person doing the bar and serving meals. We waited an hour with an almost empty tables to receive our meals. I ordered the jumbuck pizza after being told that the fish and chips were not available! I wrongly assumed that after such a long wait that it would be edible but how wrong I could be! The pizza base was the most anaemic looking base I’ve ever experienced… the pizza was supposed to have lamb in it but I did not see any evidence of that. Everything on the pizza was undercooked & inedible. The other meal we ordered was a mushroom risotto. My daughter ate it but said it was the worst she has ever tasted.I returned my pizza to the bar and told the staff member that it was undercooked- she asked if I wanted it put back in the oven?….Mmmm NO . When we settled the bill, another person (presumably the manager) tried to charge us for my pizza! Terrible service and food …& no, using the excuse you are under staffed is not an excuse!

Honestly, can't recommend these lovely people enough. We had them look after my fiancee fathers funeral/ service and they were just wonderful, couldn't have asked for more. We stayed back to booze on / reminisce and again, just perfect.Highly recommend, 6 stars if I could!!!

The food is good.We got the lamb, delicious. While the sides could be improved. The lamb and sweet potato mash were 10/10. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The pizza wasn't amazing but was good. The base was perfect, not to thick, not to thin but I recommend the lamb. They were short staffed the night we were there and couldn't do cocktails but otherwise the service was good.If it's cold, get a seat by the fire.

Came for dinner early on a Saturday night. Had a great dinner, jumbuck pizzas were sensational, nice and fresh. Fish and chips were well made and slow cooked lamb fantastic. Had a great range if beers, a great relaxed pub feel and friendly staff.
