Pentland Caravan Park

Whilst easy drive through sites, concrete pads are cracked and crumbly. Amenities are clean but showers and basins in need of plumbing attention. Unless you wrench the taps off, they constantly drip and one hw tap didn't work at all in one of the cubicles. Short walk to the pub, friendly staff and cold beer - didn't try the meals. Bird life abundant and numerous. Noise crom road trains into the night made for interrupted sleep.....will do if you really need to stop.

A caravan park that has got everything to be a great place for you to stay at in Pentland, but they don't seem to bother much.Even though the size of the cabin we stayed in was great, and the bed was comfortable, that was pretty much it. There was only a very small fridge in the bedroom, which had not been defrosted properly, so we could not use the freezer bit (which was not very clean either).There was no broom in the cabin either. The only thing available was a small hand brush, which was not very comfortable to use on the floor!!!We stayed during very cold nights, and there's nothing like a nice hot shower to make you relax when you arrive on a cold evening, but that was not what we would get there... There was no water pressure at all, and the water was just warm.There is a café, and the sandwiches are very good. We only know that because we happened to have to go back at lunch time one day, and it was open. It was always closed after 5.30 when we usually got back, so we don't know what time they were open. We had to go to the local pub for everything we needed foodwise.

It's a basic caravan park but it's close to the White Mountains National Park for a day trip. The lake on the northern side of the town is home to many birds - a boon for bird watchers.The owners are friendly & their Pentland Burger is a lovely, filling meal - great value too. Far better than is found in all of the fast food restaurants in bigger towns. The hot showers are a pleasant way to warm up during cold weather.I feel sorry for those who visit the park for a short time without unhitching their vans & finding out more about the place & its past history. All Pentland wants now is to be rediscovered" . Gold started the town

Ammeneties clean sites large needs some tlc with lawns and gardens small camp kitchen lots of rubbish lying around.Camp kitchen although 2 gentlemen sitting in there where friendly they had taken it over on a rather permanant basis. Lovely welcome when we arrived. If the occasion arose i would stay again

Very reasonable for 2 people on a powered caravan site.The park was clean and tidy and the lady very friendly. She even came down to make sure we were ok. If you are coming from north or south of Townsville and not in a hurry to get to the Curry stop in for the night. Cabins also available.

Great caravan park.Very clean and beautiful crystal pool. Clean amenities.Has small shop in office.Walking distance to pub for a meal.Definitely will stop over again when traveling between Mt Isa and Townsville.Friendly staff.

The new owners are putting a huge effort into the park in terms of physical changes and customer care. We had a unfortunate break down with our cruiser and they helped with some lifts and organising a towing plan. So good. I am a gold explorer but what I really like is finding the gold in others. A super thanks to the new team at Pentland Caravan Park!

Pretty rough and ready but served its purpose. Next time I'd free camp behind the pub. Great meal there and Elly the barmaid was super friendly
