Had the pepper pie, it was really peppery ! The texture of the pastry was perfect, a lot of fillings, love it !

If you are claiming the best pie in Australia, you would hope that it was better than some local bakery's. This was a very regular pie. The beef was good. The chicken was average, and I threw out the Mac and cheese. That was just weird. Personally, Lou and co. Is the best pie south of the city, closely followed by Millers cantina. But if you want a local regular pie, furgurson plaire is better or carvosso cakes. Honorable mention to Jonny ripe with the butter pastry. I was hoping this was awesome. But alas. These others are FAR superior

From the outside this place doesn’t look much and it’s a little difficult to get to. I’m also sceptical when a bakery advertises its award winning pies. I got past my trepidation and as I entered the front door all my fears were brushed aside. In front of me was a vast variety of pies. The biggest award winner was a plain pie, so I thought I’d try that. It was an amazing pie, one of best I’ve had and I bloody love a meat pie. Crust was great, good mix of gravy and meat. Can’t wait to drive past again to sample some of their other deliciousness.

I found out about Country Cobb via Masterchef, and along with all their awards, my expectations were set pretty high. And maybe it’s because my expectations were set so high, but my overall experience was pretty average. They weren’t bad pies for sure. We tried 4 - the plain mince, steak and cheese, scallop mornay, and laksa lobster. I enjoyed the plain mince the most, my wife the scallop. She’s big into her pastries, and according to her, the pies weren’t fresh because the edges had hardened. We live in the cbd and it’s a 40 min drive out. Even if we’re in the area in the future, we’d probably try out some of the other great places around.

Can definitely understand why it’s award winning. The slow cook BBQ beef with Mac & Cheese was full filling and the cheese is something out of this world, the cheese was creamy and can’t be compared to anything I’ve ever had. Also had the beef Thai beef pie, something I was hesitant to try however, I’m I had it as it’s also a one of a kind flavour. The chicken mushroom did not disappoint as it was creamy and did not hold back on the chicken and mushroom. The curry scallop had the right amount of spice to it and the scallop chucks were super soft and melts in your mouth.Lastly, the vanilla slice was definitely the best vanilla slice I’ve ever had. Was not too sweet. Thick and creamy, and it was so nice the flavour lingered on my tongue for the next 10 minutes or so.In summary, all the pies are packed with flavour and filling, this place is a must try!

Dropped in to get a couple of pies and sausage roll.Chicken Mushroom pie was ok but the Sausage roll wasn’t any good especially for $6.00. It looked like it had been reheated several times , was dry and hard , had already gone home when I saw it , also none of the products are being made on site , If it wasn’t for the Branding the cakes and some hot food just looked like any bakery in the area

Very vast selection of pies. Took me 10 mins to decide on what to have! Not your ordinary pie shop as they have infused a very tasty selection. My wife had their pie of the day - Lobster Curry Pie, very nice! Will definitely return again!

Melbournes best pie lives up to its name. For sure one of the more popular places, a lot of foot traffic. The place is clean and spacious. In terms of pie variety they do have lot more variety than most pie shops. Also breakfast and brunch options. They do have a range of small desserts as well. It was enjoyable. Pies are deliciously one downfall of it would be as you are eating the pies, it tends to get really messy. The filling spills over to the back over ur hand. Definitely not recommend to have a picnic in case it gets all over you. Also got deals if you are buying more than one, can get one of their packs so save money. Average price is $7 for a pie, could be more depending the type of pie you are after.
