I have built many times and never have I encountered a builder with Averna's attitude.At the beginning I was assured that my budget could be met. Furthermore, I was told that they would work with me until we got the design 100% correct. That couldn't have been more wrong. We were rushed through the design process and when we wanted to change major things like the master ensuite bathroom layout we were told oh thats a minor detail, we can fix that during prestart. Its always been my policy to never put any money down until I have a floor plan and budget but I was assured they could be trusted. Never again. Its like going to a car dealership, asking for the price of a car and having to pay money to find out the price.Probably a good company to build with if money is no object for you. The build cost presented to us for a single storey was over $1600 per sqm (excluding siteworks) for a level of specification that is standard with other builders. 20mm stone throughout, no built in robes, no paving, 32c throughout, concrete tiles, no flooring and curtains. Looking for value for money? Try Novus, Broadway or W&B.Pressured into signing the PPA and handing over a large deposit because we just wanted to start the construction process was the biggest mistake we made. When we saw a double storey display with a higher specification for a cheaper price per sqm we were told that they could not match that price and our deposit was non-refundable. Read anything these guys put infront of you before you sign! Their contracts are not standard HIA or MBA contracts which allow for a refund of deposit. I have tried to negotiate however have been told good luck with hiring a lawyer since we will lose. Nice! Amazing customer service. Will be investigating my legal rights.

Building a new home can seem a little overwhelming at first but found Averna Homes to be a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Moved into my new home and they fulfilled all of my wishes.The selection of colours, lighting etc was so organised and made the process go so smooth.I agree with everyone else that the trades and workmanship used was the highest of quality.The team of designers came up with a very great design and just loving the open plan living of my house.A special mention goes out to the client liaison officer Isabella. She was quick to answer emails and phone calls and made the process so much easier.

We recently took handover of our new home and we couldn’t be happier. The team at Averna are a pleasure to deal with and they are passionate about the build process.They have access to some of the best trades in the business and only build a limited number of homes each year. As a result, they build high quality homes.We would throughly recommend Averna Homes to anyone looking to build!

Building a home is very stressful, but Averna were reasonable to deal with for the most part. But just wait until the 6 year guarantee is up, despite them telling you when you start that they will “always be there” regardless of that. When your house is leaking like a sieve due to “unusual building/roofing/drainage/plumbing practices” there’s no recourse. Caveat Emptor!!

We’ve been in our new home for just over 6 months and still appreciative of all the thought put into the design and in awe in the quality of craftsmanship.From the beginning, they nailed our design brief and got what we were after for our future home. Practicality was equalled with their design flair- the big and small touches they suggested all came together in the final product.Throughout the journey, they guided us in selecting finishes, fixtures and appliances. Averna’s attention to detail was second to none and the team were infinitely flexible through over 20 revisions during construction.We have been well looked in the post-handover period and would build again with them in a heartbeat. We have just finished building with Averna Homes 3 months ago and very pleased with the overall experience. The customer service staff, design team we dealt with in the office have been the best and most accommodating people to deal with, we felt we were part of the family and nothing was out of the way for the team (special mention to Sean, Jamie, Jo, Isabella, Michael, Pauly, Curtis and Paul). We have made changes right through from prestart all the way through construction process and nothing has been too difficult for the team. Communication between us and the staff and with the trades was all documented and any changes was always scheduled, done promptly and correctly on time without any hiccups. We even had to make changes 12 hrs prior to works being done and was able to be accommodated for.We have had communication with everyone at the team and being a custom home builder with a team that provides very personalized service, you can always deal with everyone there, including the guys at the top if need be whose always happy and available to help or give sound advice.The worksmanship and trades/finishing trades Averna have used is the highest of quality and whats so great is that their trades they use are genuinely the same trades they use for their display homes, so you know the attention to detail and finishing quality is their no.1 priority on your own home.Even though Averna Homes may or may not be the cheapest builders after we went through several builders depending on who you are comparing to, we believe you will get what you pay forAfter finishing with Averna, we have had the pleasure to experience a team that actually cares and take pride in their workmanship customer service and will continue to stand behind their product after your home is completed, Averna Homes has always been there for us to tackle all of our enquiries, issues and resolve anything we had promptly and openly before, during and after construction.

The Averna Team treated us like a family member all the way from the beginning to the end... Jamie Sim and Mark Pavisich evaluated our block options to come to a preferred outcome.Through the design process Mark worked with our availability and family situation, often requiring late nights to go over design choices and specifications within our budget requirements.Paul Spatara (GM of Averna) helped us with fantastic design choices during the build process to really make the outcome shine, again with our budget in mind.Isabella was always in contact letting us know what was happening onsite and what we needed to do next, she was always so helpful and ensured the paperwork ran like clockwork.The draftees were amazing, everything was documented with detail and precision.Building with Averna means you are getting the best experience, quality, custom design and trouble free building that you deserve! I would build with them again in a heartbeat!

Review by Jeff and Angie MoorcroftOur journey with Averna started in August 2020 and, after visiting a couple of their show homes we were knocked out by the standard of building design, construction and finishing trades such as interior/exterior decoration, floor finishes, tiling, electrical, lighting and cabinetry. We understood that Averna were operating in the high end market place so when we approached them to build our dream home on a small corner block in Claremont we were expecting to be turned down.Not to be, I think they saw our project as a bit of a challenge. The assistance of their very professional and capable design team soon got the plans underway and just prior to the outbreak of Covid 19 we had a building design that we were more than happy with. Needless to say we have just moved in to our dream home with so much floor plate squeezed into a challenging sized block. The building and its finishes are just perfect. The whole team at Averna from management down through the design team, site supervisors and trades deserve the highest accolade in making the whole process painless and exciting. A special shout out to Brian, our supervisor who bent over backwards going above and beyond in getting the project completed. We are excited about settling in to our new home and ecstatic on what our future life holds for us. Dreams so often remain dreams but in this instance Averna have fulfilled a dream.
