A very good history lesson and well worth a visit. Lot's of historical items on display and you get a good sense of the homestead. I was drawn to the typed stories of individuals provided, definitely provides food for thought of past difficulties and lifetimes.

What a fabulous experience..loved the house and all the displays in it. I especially enjoyed the nostalgia of the History of Recorded Sound exhibition. The delicious scones,cream and jam morning tea (1st Sunday of the month) was amazing and totally appropriate with the atmosphere of the house. It's very close proximity to public transport and the beach was the icing on the cake.

We enjoyed some freshly baked GF scones with mixed berry jam and beaten cream. And of course a cup or two of freshly brewed tea. Excellent service and friendly staff.

Went on the ghost tour of altona homestead.I think someone forgot to tell the ghosts that we were coming!Good tour guide but think the stories he was telling us where a bit far fetched.
