Kandy by Sri Lankan Bites
We went for dinner at Kandy. It is highly recommended by one of our friends from Sri Lanka. He said this is the best place in Sydney to have authentic Sri Lankan food. My favourite is the egg hoppers! I loved it so much that I finished 2 hoppers. Other dishes were also great but a bit strong in flavour so make sure you also order rice or rotti. The staff was super friendly.

Best Sri Lankan food I have tasted in Australia so far. It is expensive but worth every penny. We ordered Fried rice, Crab kottu and hoppers. Best quality food. Nice atmosphere with Sri lankan traditional art. Hope to visit again.

Best Sri Lankan food in Sydney without a doubt! Ordered some dishes for a special event. Everything was delicious. Received excellent customer service by the team at Sri Lankan Bites from order to pick up and after as well. Complimentary bottles of toddy and palmyrah arrack was a nice little surprise! This is quite possibly the best Sri Lankan restaurant in Australia! The service is warm and friendly, the drinks are delicious and most importantly the food is both authentic and amazing. The flavours are out of this world and everyone dining here appeared to be enjoying their experience.We will happily recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sydney as this is how dining out should be done. Would love to see the owners open another restaurant at the Gold Coast or Melbourne.

We went for dinner for 2 to this place. We had following dishes:1. Sri Lankan Jerk Chicken Wings (4.5/5)Excellent chicken wings - well cooked and very juicy. Had a tinge of pepper and honey on top and added to the taste significantly. A must try starter.2. Egg Hopper (4.4/5)Three hoppers were served, one with egg and two plain. Three sides accompanied them , a chicken curry, some dry chutney and onions. This dish was very tasty as well , especially the egg hopper which stood out. Chicken curry was pretty good. The whole package eaten together with all the sides was quite satisfying.3. Sri Lankan Prawn Curry with Rice (4.5/5)Very well made. Well cooked and in an authentic Lankan style. Lot of prawn pieces as well.4. Whole Fish with rice (4/5)Serves one whole fish cooked in an Indo-Chinese style accompanied with Mushrooms, pepper and Onions. Fish was well cooked and did not have too many fish thorn/bones. The flavour is on the tangy side - can be tried - but it is a mains dish and should be sufficient in itself. I was not a huge fan of this one due to its Indo Chinese flavour but can be tried if that’s something that interests you.All in all a good authentic Sri Lankan place in the city. Worth a try.

We ordered the Station chilli pork , egg hopper, roti and chicken Kothu with fried chicken. I loved the food it was spicy (but not too spicy) and flavorful. I loved both the main dishes.The only thing I would skip was the plain roti it wasn’t as soft would definitely swap it in for another hopper. For drinks we ordered a beer and a Raga Kithul Sparkling Kithul raa . It tasted like a kombucha maybe ? I liked it. The service was really good and the food was prepared very fast. Would definitely recommend and come back to try something else !

Kandy was a great find! We loved our generous and flavoursome dinner feast: hoppers platter with condiments; wild boar curry (very good); tofu kottu roti; lamb briyani; roti and pumpkin curry.Only wish the hoppers were served warm, but otherwise it was spot-on with a pleasantly spongy texture and fermented tang.It's conveniently located at the intersection of Glebe Point Road and Parramatta Road. Service was welcoming and I'd definitely recommend this place if you like strong, bold flavours.

Another great dinner here! Every dish was a winner. Egg hooper with lentil curry was very tasty. Devilled beef had a kick. Love being able to order and pay on my phone. Staff also looked after us very well - super quick service.

I've only tried the sweet milk hopper, overall it was a good hopper but one small sticking point is that the hopper itself was a bit cold and not warm, although the insides with the jaggery were warm, which is a bit confusing. The fresh warmth is something that i get at other placds in Sydney even, I'm not sure if because we ordered 4 I happened to get the one that cooled down the most, it can be tricky. Anyway, the hopper itself tasted like a good dessert, service is friendly, and they look to have late-ish opening hours which is good. I'll probably come back and try other things.
