Bakers Delight Bateau Bay

Use to be good serve & friendly staff. Now you are made feel like it is an inconvience to serve you. If they are busy (which they rarely are) they could at least acknowledge your presence and say they will be with you shortly. Their sandwich bar closes remarkedly early now. A sad result to a once lovely place to visit.

The young girl working here between 2-3pm on Monday Feb 8th 2021 was SO rude. I was waiting for my two year old to choose what he wanted (keep in mind he is literally two years old) and she was impatiently telling us she had to serve other customers like... I’m literally not stopping you I didn’t ask you to serve me I did not even speak to you, I made sure there was space for other customers to be served because I knew he was going to take a little bit to choose (it took less than 5 minutes). Once he decided, I was told we could only get it in a pack of six, which was fine, she can’t help that, until she very condescendingly says “so these are the big ones, these are $3 and this is the size of them” like she’s speaking to a child. I’m not blind, I can see the big ones, I know how much they are as there is a massive price sign right in front of them. I was about to order one but decided not to as everything was covered in flies. I really hope management or this girl reads this, I don’t know if this was her first shift at her first job but it was an awful experience and I don’t like to be talked down on by a child. Also please sort out the flies, that’s vile.

Used to be the only place we would buy bread. We dont go there anymore bread is always uneven thick slice thin slice. We bought a tea cake for visitors and it WASNT fresh.

Love their bread and rolls they are very soft and so fresh

Forcing people to sign in to a premises they are not even entering or else they are refused service. Told it was for my own safety(laughable). Real disservice to the community and public. Shills that need to grow a brain.

Yesterday afternoon I purchased 2 x sourdough loafs ($13) from this store. I was walking back to my car with my trolly of groceries, and one loaf had opened as it was not fastened correctly and I lost half a sourdough loaf. I gathered the half loaf off the car park floor and walked back to the store to explain what had happened.When speaking to a bakers delight female staff member she said she would check with her manager if she could give me a new loaf.The female staff member returned and told me he said no ~ it wasn’t their responsibility what happens to the loaf once purchased.I asked to speak to the manger, she returned saying he’s busy. I could see the manager on duty standing at the back of the bakery.He did not want to speak to me or acknowledge what had happened.I asked him to come to the front of the store and speak To me. He eventually came to the front however his lack of understanding and telling me he could not replace everyone’s loaf and that he doesn’t believe this happened to me.I am extremely shocked and disappointed by the attitude of the manager and his lack of customer service and the female staff member who didn’t take accountability for the bread not being tied correctly.Being a BD loyalty card holder every second day I purchase a loaf of bread and additionally a baked good from this particular store.I am absolutely disgusted by the accusations of lying when I had just purchased these loafs and am a regular loyal customer.I left the whole loaf on the counter as I was frustrated by the attitude of the manager called ‘Will’.I want everyone to be aware of how this store is operating and treating their regular loyal customers ~ My family and I will no longer be supporting this franchise bakers delight store.

The only item I purchased was an apple and custard scroll. I have normally seen only plain custard scrolls or custard and almond.The new combination was good (although I dont much care for apples. The bite of the scroll was kind of fresh crip necer before in any bakers delight across most of NSW. Loved otThe staff too were friendly.

Lovw their bread. The cape seed is excellent and hi fibre low gi is great for diabetics
