Such a great restaurant for so many reasons!We we were a group of 10 and we had the provincial banquet and nobody left hungry! .. the quantity was definitely adequate.Even the glass of wine was a glass of wine ! and adequate ... not often found in restaurants these days.The dips octopus zucchini flowers all so tasty .. meat tender topped off with great coffee and sweets.The waitresses were all so friendly, lovely and accommodating. Food was served in good timing and the service went smoothly with ample waitresses to serve and assist.Atmosphere warm and cosy... highly recommend Philhellene.We all had a wonderful evening and everyone was impressed!We will definitely return!

Great Greek restaurant for a special occasion. The staff were very friendly and explained all the menu and food as it came to the table.Having been recommended this restaurant, we visited for a special occasion and were not disappointed. We got the banquet and the variety of the dishes was great. That Saganaki cheese was my favourite entree and definitely a highlight of the entire menu. All of the meat was tender and perfectly cooked.All the food was super high quality and well worth spending the little extra on. Highly recommend going here for a special occasion when you want a nice meal!

This spot is an institution for a reason - it's bustling, has a charming interior, and offers a unique array of dishes not often found at other local Greek restaurants.Loved seeing an impressive amount of vegan options including a plant-based moussaka, although the flavour fell short compared to the other offerings.The mezze platter (especially the pickled octopus) and the koupes, on the other hand, were top notch.

After many failed attempts to secure a seat here we planned well in advance and got an early spot on a Saturday night.What you get from Philhelene is the classic Greek dishes, beautifully cooked, and served by some of the nicest people you will ever meet in a restaurant.The serves are huge, so don’t be embarrassed to ask for a take away container – look around and you will see everyone else is piling their remains into bags, and plastic or foil containers when they pay the bill.Just be careful if you have dietary restrictions, as we had a few near misses with requests being lost and having to be corrected.Good value, and a lovely night out.

Good, attentive service, however the food was just ok - and unfortunately it was quite over priced for what we got.We had the banquet, comparatively you can get a feed me menu at a high end restaurant for the same price and get much better quantity and quality.Good if you're on a keto diet - although Greek salad could have been slightly larger for 2 ppl. Slow cooked lamb was dry.Nicest item here was the baklava, but $12.50 for 3 x 10 cent sized pieces was a bit much.

I finally booked here after wanting to try out this recommended Greek restaurant for ages. Our service was attentive, very polite and friendly. The waiters took time to go through all the specials with us as we had never eaten there before. Everything sounded great but we decided on two specials and a few options from the menu. We started with saganaki and these cheese and mint parcels. Both were very delicious. Then we shared the kid goat which was served with peas and broadbeans and potatoes. The goat was so tender and very tasty. I particularly loved the peas and broadbeans that were served on the side. We also chose the beetroot salad special. This was exceptional and the flavours were perfectly balanced. It was served with grilled figs, radish, walnuts, pomegranate and a creamed feta. It was a stand out salad. We were also offered complimentary bread which tasted like a home made sour dough we normally get from the Village bakery in Brunswick. We shared dessert of galatobureko and halva ice cream which were both delicious. We even tried the warm spiced liquor which for $22 was excellent value as there were about 6 shots worth. Overall it was a really enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also great. Well done Philhellene.

Had the provincial set menu between 3 people and everything was amazing - friendly staff, great food, good atmosphere - had to have a good 10minute break between servings because there’s so much food. Take your time here!

Philhellene, a fantastic restaurant that I have visited on several occasions. Their traditional Greek cuisine is exceptional, and the quality of both food and service is consistently outstanding.I recently brought my aunt and mum to enjoy the delicious Greek cuisine, and they were thoroughly impressed with the experience. They haven't stopped raving about it ever since.Being a connoisseur of good food, I would highly recommend you to visit Philhellene. It is an excellent place to sample the best of Greek cuisine. Don't just take my word for it, go and experience it for yourself.
