Had a fantastic dinner with my partner for her birthday. Best steak I’ve had since I can remember! Super Friendly service. Our waiter even brought out a candle for our desert which was a very nice gesture, thanks guys!

Very nice historic building that provides for an interesting atmosphere and is well laid out for space at dining. Their is also outside dining at the rear of the property. The cocktails are worth a try and the menu is varied enough for all tastes.

A beautiful and historic building. Service was very accommodating and food was fabulousNote: The main entrance at the front is quite narrow and has steps. You may need assistance to get a pram through the door.Otherwise highly recommended.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends in the beautiful gardens. The food was delicious a small menu but well thought out covering most tastes. The Pork entree a shared plate was beautiful. A wonderful venue with great food ambiance and attentive staff.

Easily the best pub food in Bendigo. Food is simple but well executed. Lovely garden herbs grown for the restaurant and chicken coop! Great place for a drink or Sunday lunch.

Excellent, fantastic location and lovely atmosphere. You can eat inside or in their courtyard which is well shaded and is surrounded by gardens. Impressive service and great choice of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The Ginger Ninja mock tail tastes fantastic. Great food choices, from lighter starters or share plates through to entrees and good sized mains and of course desert. I had crispy eggplant bao buns and they were to die for. Veg and meat options within every course. Enjoy! It's across from the Victoria Hill gardens and old mine works which is a great little spot to walk through. Contains a complete old mine battery and poppet head nearby.

We had a magnificent dinner tonight at this historic hotel . I’m a big fan of historic pubs and this very well renovated hotel looks splendidWe shared an entre which was a cold platter loaded with tasty meats , cheeses and pickled vegetables which was very tasty and fillingFor main course I enjoyed the Butchers Cut steak which was beautifully cooked with a lovely Smokey flavour .We couldn’t fit in pud so we staggered off into the moonlight very content that we had picked this pub for dinner.Excellent service from Jesse

Excellent food, service, atmosphere. Saw it recommended on The Age Good Food Guide and drove 2 1/2hrs from Melbourne for lunch. High quality food that was delicious. Staff were very friendly. Definitely go again.

My husband, Matt, and I got married at the Gold Mines 25/11/2022. The venue is absolutelygorgeous, and we felt quite secluded and private despite others being in the garden. The food was raved about by all the guests (I myself had far too many mushroom arancini) and a partial vegetarian menu was arranged for us. The gardens and the front of the building are spectacular for photos and create a lovely intimate feeling. The manager was very accommodating about our wish for staff to wear N-95 (Covid) masks when entering our event space.We did find the communication less than ideal & had some issues with the furniture not being set up/rearranged as previously agreed. This did add a bit of stress and work for us - both beforehand and on the day. We found out later that the events manager left her job partway through our planning period and the general manager took on her role. I understand staffing is difficult due to COVID, and we had no issue rearranging things ourselves, but the lack of communication was the main problem for us. Being told one thing and then having another happen is very frustrating.However! Overall it is a wonderful venue and we had a wonderful day.
