Back in 2019 I convinced myself to try a trial class and to this day I’m so glad I made this decision. There’s nothing else quite like pole and the classes in pole athletica are amazing.I like that the pole fit classes focus more on the strengthening and skills on the pole itself as I didn’t have a dance background and was worried about that. That way I can slowly choose my pace and slowly get better at it. And when I want to try more dance the option is still there through the many enhancement classes. All the instructors here are all so amazing too! They’re all very encouraging and supportive. I remember being so surprised they even remember my name back in the first few weeks.I’ve never felt so strong and flexible in my life before and I have pole athletica to thank for that. From the splits intensive classes to the pole fit class and even combos I’ve adored all the classes I’ve been to and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

If you are reading this review that means you are considering starting your pole journey or continuing to do so at Pole Athletica. Trust me, trust your gut, do it!!! I started my journey 12 weeks ago with hesitation, I was not confident at all in pursuing pole dance, I rarely exercise and had limited belief on lifting myself up. After I attended the trial class with Shea, I was intrigued at how focused I was with my own body. I CANNOT lift myself whatsoever on my first week of class, but I keep on going and didn't give up. It didn't get easier but I get stronger! Although I only come for one class per week, I am grateful that I can finally perform the core skills that were taught up until now (some definitely still need lots of improvement), I am looking forward to more practices for my body conditioning and getting better. I love the supportive community at Pole Athletica, all of the teachers and of course the fun classes! Can't wait to start my Pole Fit 2 journey! xx

Professionalism and safety are the primary characteristics of being a student at Pole Athletica. Perhaps not the most colourful words, but a soothing basis for development in a sport, where you don't want to fall down. Then, when you meet the instructors, they greet you with a contagious energy and enthusiasm. They're all the type of people, you wish to spend more time with, which is extremely motivating in a quite demand type of sport. The time table is extensive, and the very supportive other students is where I found my first friends in Sydney. I can't believe how much fun I've had and how much I've learned. Thank you for all the fun and all the challenges.I'll miss you all until I get back.

I have attended a few trial classes, so if you are THAT person (like me), and you don’t want to attend 4+ like me, feel free to read along!First: Pole Athletica IS pricier than other places, but this is due to several reasons I noted (and hence why I chose them):- They break down each technique so you do everything correctly (this is especially good if you want to avoid injury or if you want to look good doing pole), rather than showing and just rushing expecting you to do it.- They CAN and answer all questions you have about a certain technique or movement. (I did have quite a lot and they are very happy to answer thoroughly!)- No making choreography next to the pole while not learning anything. If you just want to dance around and only learn one thing per class, choose other places! I personally want to pay to learn techniques and once I learnt them, I want to learn to put them together, not dincy-dancing next to the pole without hardly any learning especially proper technique.- The studio is actually clean, does not smell, is not crowded and they also do ask students to clean their poles and mats after themselves- They have mats (a big plus that is missing from any other places) and provide shaving cream/grip if you don’t have any (such a plus).- Again, they are clean and not overcrowded. Cleanliness was a big plus for me once I experienced other studios. It is very disheartening to rock up to a trial class and step into a studio with closed windows after a rigorously large class that just ended with seemingly no cleaning whatsoever in-between sessions. I personally really enjoy a clean, tidy environment and this studio seems to appreciate it too!- They offer multiple free self-led classesIt is the tiny details, but also the teacher’s technique and experience (most of them have some sort of dancing/athletic background) which I also missed from other places. They are also very friendly and funny.I do absolutely recommend looking around and finding what is best for you, but I did want to make a few points as I was looking for this when “shopping around”.Updated review after 2 terms at PA:If you are still thinking if you should sign up, please do! I cannot tell how wonderful it is to see your body achieve things you didn’t know it could. I have self esteem issues and due to past trauma, I feel often disconnected from my body. I always felt like my body let me down in several aspects of my life. Seeing how it is able to learn what I put my mind to , how it does not demand a lot to help me achieve my goals is a true confidence booster. I have stepped on a self love journey and acceptance via pole that I was working in therapy for years for. I do think if you have past trauma or low self esteem or hate how you look, pole together with therapy helps a lot.I also want to say kudos to Shea and Vittoria as I naturally gravitated towards them and they make me feel incredibly comfortable. I still struggle with anxiety, fears and mental block but they are always there to help and catch me (both metaphorically and even physically if needed). Thanks, PA for becoming a safe space for me to learn and grow and heal.

The community at PA is really supportive and gives great directions. I struggle with self-esteem and confidence and doing pole boosted the both of them. I especially like how the instructors and management take the time to teach you and advise you on what you need to correct in a gentle way, so you can progress smoothly.I'm really happy i started pole, if you're curious i really hope you try it here :D

Really like this studio and would defs recommend. The trainers are amazing and not only very knowledgeable but also spread a great vibe especially if you are not that confident with pole (yet). What particularly attracted me to this studio is the structure of how the pole activities are taught. there is a level 1- 10 structure where foundations are established and further developed and built upon with each level. This makes it a lot easier to learn things and also a lot safer compared to how other studios approach teaching (only 3 levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced).

I started at pole athletica almost 2 years ago now and all I can say is that it’s the best decision I made! Pole has helped me so much with my strength, creativity, and self-confidence. The structured program at PA makes it easy to learn and see improvement. It’s a journey but the staff and students at PA are so friendly and supportive. It’s a great community that helps you become your best self!

Honestly was so nervous starting Pole, I was new to Sydney and never touched a Pole in my life - a complete newbie! I had a free trial with Shea who made me feel so relaxed and comfortable and I had so much fun. I signed up for a 5 week intro course to see if I'd like it (I have serious a habit of quitting things so wanted to give myself 5 weeks) wow that 5 weeks was so much fun! I met some amazing girls and even though I'm a 'bigger' girl I was so amazed at how much my body was doing with some practice! I'm now nearly at the end of my level 1 course, about to start level 2! I feel so much stronger and there is nothing like being able to do a skill after weeks of trying, and the whole class clapping and rallying round you! The Facebook group is also a lovely touch, ways to see what everyone is achieving and it's so motivating! Thanks so much to Jen and the team for always being on hand to help and making me feel like I can do it!
