Carlile Swimming Norwest

My son was petrified of being in a swimming pool and I was so impressed and grateful with Karen's gentle, patient and understanding approach to work with him and his fear, week after week. What a wonderful teacher! Special mention to Deon also who was wonderfully encouraging and empathetic when dealing with my son's apprehension. It is a very good swim school, the only thing is lessons can get a little crowded at times which means the teacher has to divide their time/tuition between 3-4 kids in the half hour lesson. Would be great if the class numbers kept to 3 max but I realise due to demand for lessons that's difficult for the service to implement.

Both my children have been through swim programs here and its absolutely amazing. The teachers connect with the children really well.

My experience could be different from others but personally I am really disappointed. My son is attending regular swimming lessons here but I am not happy the way they operate. They talk about problems but never cone up with solutions . Every week there is a new student in regular batch and trainer put more attention on new student as compare to others. Now I have decided to take my son out from here to somewhere else. Another thing it cost me more but no results.

My kid has been attending the classes for the past one yr, we didn't see much improvement. The instructor usually looks at the clock 5 or 6 times and say shush most of the times. My kid doesn't want to attend the weekly classes anymore. I thought my kid will get more confident in the water. But its the exact opposite.One of the temporary instructors my kid had was pretty good as she focussed on mainly two or three techniques. I'm not much bothered about the kids in the same lane as it teaches them patience and learning through looking at peers and sharing, but I would appreciate it if they focus on individual level of confidence in the water too.not just encouraging the kids who are actually doing very well.

My kids have been with Carlile for a year now and all their teachers have been nothing but wonderful.I have also brought my niece and nephew to swimming, so have seen my fair share to be able to give this five star rating - From Waterbabies to Kingfish.Thank you team for all your hard work! We have been using the facilities for all our kids from the last 9 years, this place is getting better by the day.Great location with awesome facilities; trainers are just at the next level with lots of patience.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent swim school.Room for improvement- shower facilities

Very poor customer service, you may stay on waiting list forever, maybe because training quality is not there and kids won’t move to higher levels, not sure but this is the case only with Carlile Norwest other centres are much better.Also after at least 2 years at Carlile my son cannot swim confidently, really confused with the whole situation!!!

Very disheartened to give this rating but running out of trust especially after COVID times.My daughters have been taking lessons at the Norwest center from past 5 years. As per Carlile's assessments, their progress has never been great. Every time we spoke to their assessor, we have been told how our daughters didn't do a certain thing that well. We believed and let them continue in the same level for several months more. The next assessment hardly noticed any improvement. Again, the assessor talked about what was not up to the mark. After further probing, the assessor suggested more practice at home or at other facilities.I spoke to one of the assessor if she thinks swimming is not a thing for them, she said, it is up to us to decide. I personally observed the training for few weeks. in a 30-minute session, the instructors check the clock at least once in every 2 minutes. For the last 5 -8 minutes, they just talk with kids with their eyes fixed on the clock. With this kind of attention, the kids spend time in water, pick up one or two skills but will never be good at swimming. We changed lesson timings, instructors but overall it is the same trend. I checked with few other friends and parents and confirmed this trend.My girls lost confidence now and are not interested to go this centre any more. I lost trust and wonder if the center will ever focus on quality learning rather than polished interiors and hi-tech gadgets.

Love this place and my kids have been Carlile kids since they were 11 weeks to date.The coach in the lanes are great, very focussed and bond with kids out there.Love the place and highly recommend

My years of experience with Carlile Swimming Norwest has been great, but recently my son was assessed while he was absent (he was away for two weeks) - I only received the review via email. In the past, the assessor would come and talk to the kid and/or parent what they need to improve, now they assess without the kids being present and parents will only receive the assessment via email, which is disappointing if it has come down to this, they have become less communicative and less kids/parents friendly.
