I've been studying with Nando at Inner West Drum Lessons for the last 2.5 years as an adult starter. I looked at close to 100 different advertisements and picked Nando, as I wanted to focus on the technical aspects of drumming. If you are looking to learn correct technique, with a knowledgeable and talented teacher, that can demonstrate with clarity and skill, then Inner West Drums is what you need!I thought I had pretty good knowledge of rock and pop music, and I do; but Nando far outstrips my depth of knowledge. Every week I learn something I didn't know about the history of rock and pop. This makes my lessons both interesting and fun!We have similar interests musically, and Nando both supports and challenges me to be better.There isn't a better drum teacher in Sydney!

Our son (11 years old) has been having lessons with Nando for just over a year during which his playing has improved hugely. Nando manages to keep him engaged throughout the 45 minute lesson with a blend of learning and playing repertoire, sight-reading, technique and musicianship. As parents, it's been invaluable to have an experienced teacher helping our son to become a better musician - he always has a plan for each lesson and understands how to motivate him to do his best. Nando is a fantastic teacher who finds the balance between professionalism and warmth. He's great at breaking down complicated information, and is extremely knowledgeable on all things drums, as well as music in general. My 12 year old son has been learning how to play the drums from Nando for 7.5 years. I still remember those days that Nando had to lower every piece of the drum kit (except the base drum) at the beginning of each session.I am not only impressed by Nando's professional skills as a drummer, but also by his patience, which allows my son to still be interested in learning and continue practising. Nando knows how to motivate Alex and puts fun into his lessons. Alex is learning Grade 7 now, and all of his certificates are just byproducts of fun.We are grateful that we have Nando as our son's first and the only drum teacher.

Louie (7 years old) and I have been getting lessons from Nando for a few months now. Louie loves his lessons and Nando has a real knack for working with kids. He is patient, encouraging and funny. Nando really knows how to get kids motivated and moving forward in a serious (music theory, drum technique, etc.) yet fun environment. Nando has a deep love of music and drumming, and really cares about his students. But one of the best things about learning with Nando is his lessons are so much fun.
