Ultrasound Care Alexandria

I've had multiple scans and procedures done at Ultrasound Care, and I would absolutely recommend them! Their staff are kind and very competent, the scans and procedures are performed to a high standard, and the turn-around time (for receiving reports and scan images) is extremely fast (that is, same day). Their services may be slightly more expensive than some other places, but you really do receive an excellent standard of care. Would recommend!

I would’ve given 5 stars but reduced it to 2 due to my last visit here for my 20 week scan. I was extremely upset after leaving this clinic. During my scan, the sonographer told me that my placenta was lying low and that I will need to come back for another scan at 30 weeks. This is understandable but she proceeded to tell me that if it is still lying low at 30 weeks, I cannot have a natural birth and will need a c-section. To be told this at this stage of my pregnancy by a sonographer caused me unnecessary stress. She was in no position to tell me how the baby will be birthed. It was extremely careless and she should revise her bedside manners.

I booked in here for a pelvic ultrasound, being told it cost $370. I found another well known company that charged just $160 for the same procedure, so I called back shortly after to cancel. During this second call, I told the reception staff this and she told me 'well we do provide specialist ultrasound procedures'. I agreed but told her that I wasn't having a specialist procedure. She then told me that I would get $100 back from Medicare. I queried why the cost was still over double, for the same procedure, as not everyone has Medicare or insurance. The receptionist then began speaking over the top of me in dismissal, repeating, 'Yeah', 'alright' and 'fine'. I told her I was merely responding to what she had said and this was a very rude response to a perfectly reasonable point, that was made to her in a respectful manner.As well as overcharging customers by $210 for a simple procedure, the lack of basic respect when interacting with customers was very disappointing. I would never use this clinic or recommend it to others.

The ultrasonographer here is nice. However there is no doctor on site. Doctor at another clinic tried to call our OB but didn't call my OB's number on the referral form (not sure where they called, and they only left a message and never followed up).So our OB never heard from their doctor even though our situation was considered really urgent. This made our misfortunate experience even more stressful than it is.I will only go to a clinic with doctor on site in the future to avoid this additional stress.

I came here for NIPT test, and all the people are lovely and nice, from the receptionist, the lady that do ultrasound, the doctor, and the person who took the blood. We have small miscommunication, so I dont know that I need to have full bladder, so the first ultrasound is not clear, but they are so kind and accomodate for me to do the second one, which is I really grateful for it. Everyone is really nice and informative. Thank you so much ultrasoundcare alexandria. Really recommended!

I came here for an ultrasound and NIPT. The ultrasonographer, Trixie, and obstetrician, Dr Elizabeth Luxford, were both very warm and caring towards me during my appointment. Dr Luxford took the time to carefully and patiently answer any questions I had. I received my NIPT results by phone 5 business days later. I had an excellent experience here.

Inattentive and disorganised. Best avoid.Didn't properly read the requirements sent over from the doctor. Declined to perform relevant testing. Ignored patient direction to check an area with pain. Happily billed us.Thoroughly unfortunate experience.
