Fantastic staff and vet. Love the fact there are no appointments, and varied times during the day and week to rock up and first in, first served.

I’m here to share my very recent experience with this clinic, and its 2 staff members. Dr. Peter Anderson and his receptionist whose name I still don’t know. I hope this helps at least one person out there who loves their pets. I will try to write this without being overpowered by emotions and from an objective and factual point.A couple of days ago, I came to this clinic with an emergency. My 10 week old lab puppy had chocked and wasn’t breathing. I bolted through the door with my dying puppy in my arms, and placed her on the examination table. It was a very stressful moment, but I clearly remember the lack of urgency, care and compassion showed by Dr. Peter Anderson. I vividly remember how slowly he moved through the room. I didn’t see any immediate efforts to try to resuscitate my dying puppy. Unfortunately she past away. I’m not blaming anyone for this, maybe she had already past away in the car, or maybe she could have been saved if the Dr. acted with the level of urgency and professionalism an emergency situation like this deserved. I will never know. All I know is there was a sense of indifference shown by the Dr. and his receptionist, who I don’t know if doubles as an assistant nurse. I do not remember any words coming out of Dr. Peter’s mouth other than “she’s dead”. If I had to guess, I would say he’s been doing this long enough to know how to show a little sympathy and compassion when someone comes running through the door with a dying pet in their arms. Today, I went in to pick up the death certificate to be greeted by him with: “Is this what you wanted?” As I read the report, I read “efforts to revive her were unsuccessful” which I questioned, as I didn’t see. His response was: “We compressed her chest, what else do you want me to do”. This comment is completely unacceptable towards a grieving owner. He did not make eye contact at all during our conversation and unapologetically turned his back on me to his computer when I was talking to him.I hope this review and my experience helps a pet owner avoid this clinic. Please sir, if this is the level of care you will provide to pet owners and their beloved pets, show some dignity and respect to the community and retire yourself. As read on another review, this is not a safe and nurturing environment and the level of irreverence experienced my with the staff members of this clinic in such upsetting times was very distressing.

Went down today to find they were closed down (per a local). A shame, as I'd always had excellent service from Peter and Michelle.

This practise is so good, very friendly staff. I have been going there for over 30years.

We have recently moved to the area and had to find a local vet. Parkdale Vets were the closest so we went there. We will not be going back. The receptionist was SO rude and uncommunicative and then the vet, who never even introduced himself, gave our pets the most cursory examination - didn't look at any of the notes from our previous vet that we had emailed through, didn't remember to check out the one thing I mentioned I was concerned about with our dog, gave them both their vaccination, wasn't keen on giving them their worming tablet - wanted to send it home with us, but I said I'd not be able to give it to them, so he said he could 'try' to give it to them, which he did successfully, but it didn't fill me with confidence and then sent us on our way. I am all for the elders of our community continuing to work, but if you are not confident any longer in giving a simple tablet, or interested in doing a thorough job and connecting with the pets and their owners - then have some integrity and retire. I would hate to have gone there with a sick pet or in an emergency - it was most definitely not a safe, nurturing, caring or capable environment or service.

I can't speak highly enough of the team at Parkdale Veterinary. They were so caring, kept us constantly informed with how the op was going and call the next morning to check how Nellie was recovering. Although the op was unexpectedly more complicated and time consuming than what they expected, the cost was still below the quoted price. This is a very reasonably priced vet, can't recommend highly enough. Annette & Marcel

Peter is a friendly, knowledgeable and affordable vet. My cavoodle just adores him!
