SALA is a Chinese language learning centre catering for basic to intermediate levels of learning with classes ranging from prep to adult.I like that the students get to enjoy formal lessons, as well as informal guidance on Chinese culture and folklore. Various Chinese festivals are celebrated on-site throughout the year - very exciting for the children. If you're looking for a Chinese language centre, I would highly recommend SALA.

Great learning environment that also caters from non-Mandarin background. Have 3 children attended and had fun learning the language and participating in the cultural activities such as Dragon Boat race and Mid-Autumn festival. Great community and a sense of togetherness.

My two kids attend Chinese language lessons here on Saturday mornings. Community run, the dedicated teachers patiently explain and teach the children. It is not only a place for learning the language but engage in the culture.Highly recommend for non speakers at home as my kids have shown a vast improvement over the years in both written and spoken platforms. Classes consist of small groups.

It is a great place for kids to learn Chinese language. My daughter goes for their classes and I could see a vast improvement in her over the years. Most importantly she loves it and I do as well as parents. Teachers are professional yet employ a casual and non pressured environment. The centre is run by parents themselves and the common sentiment amongst them and including me is to create awareness of Chinese culture in our children. And this place has done just that and beyond.

Great community run Chinese language centre. This non for profit school has classes for both beginners, kids, and adults. It encourages cultural exchange which is unique from other language centres.Events like mooncake festival, Chinese new year, dragon boat festivals are some of the annual events held at this centre to teach the kids of Chinese customs and cultural practices.Parents also get together and make friends as well as organise fundraising lunches usually with a little bit of local" flair which can be quite delicious. Our family joined the centre after trying out other language centres where we felt abit lost because we couldn't keep up with the more advance students. We have seen a vast improve in our children's language skills and they seem to enjoy their lessons and seem more be engaged then previous centres. The kids also learn Chinese through signing and poems."

One of the main reasons I enrol my children at SALA is because they cater for non-Chinese-speaking students, and my children are able to understand better what they are learning because teachers can speak English. Complete language immersion has its value, but my goal is for my children to learn in a comfortable environment where they are able to follow the lesson and instructions. The cultural festivities during the main Chinese events are definitely one of the things that students, teachers and parents all enjoy and look forward to. Although the location is a 40-minute (one way!) drive from home, I feel it is worth the commute because I haven't found such a community closer to home that caters to my preference on how my kids learn a second language, and my children have been learning at SALA for the third year currently.
