Marramarra Ridge to Smugglers Ridge Trail (Walking / 4WD)
Great place to your 4wd for bit of fun close to the city, some great cliff tops to have a picnic at. Few kms of easy dirty track and little area to test out on the rocks

Marramarra Ridge to Smugglers Ridge Trail (Walking / 4WD)
This hike was a beauty but not recommended to do on your own if your are not experienced, not because its massively difficult even though being a grade 4 but because of its remoteness. The loop is cool and the forna is amazing during spring and early summer. Driving to Smugglers Ridge Track, Fiddletown then following Marramarra Ridge Trail, it starts easy but narrows and becomes rocky and lose under foot. The views are brilliant in some spots but be prepared for the descent, its extremely steep. Marramarra Creek is a welcome inclusion when you get down from the last ridge top and after crossing the creek you'll meet up with Marramarra Ridge Trail again. There's a fair climb up the hill 2/3 kilometers to the ridge top and it will flatten out near the gate, from there you have about 3/4 kilometers to where you started the loop. It's graded a 4Features of this trackTime4 - 6hrsQuality of markingsLimited signageGradientShort steep hillsDistance13km loopStepsOccasional stepsQuality of pathFormed track, some obstaclesExperience requiredExperienced bushwalkersDiscover the Hawkesbury Sandstone ridge tops and explore the tidal creek lines of Marramarra on this beautiful day walk.Enjoy easy walking along Marramarra Ridge trail down to Marramarra Creek. Stop for a while and enjoy picnicking and a refreshing swim at Marramarra Creek campground. Head off to explore the historic orange orchards, and in late winter, you can probably pick an orange from these historic trees.Continue along the walking track that takes you back up to Bloodwood Road along Smugglers Ridge. It’ll be impossible to miss the wildflowers in spring. Admire the beautiful colours of pink eriostemons and boronias, yellow peas and white epacris, as well as yellow and red bloodwoods and angophoras.
