This campground was absolutely amazing!!! It was secluded and perfect for a getaway from technology and social media. The wildlife here was teemminggg! There is a wide range of species from ultra rare to commonly beautiful, all of which provide an experience like no other. Please come here with your family! All you need is plenty of water (not supplied), food, snacks and marshmallows, a floaty for relaxing down the river, fire wood (cannot collect at campsite) and a trusty pair of thongs. This is a great retreat with the fam, solid 5 stars from me (: P.S. toilets were exquisite, no smell!! but bring hand sanitizer..

About 6 sunny sites. Thunder dunny, nothing else. Some nice walking and mountain biking.

I need to research this place to see how old it is. It has so much potential to have so many private little campsites hidden off in different areas. The NPWS seem to be clearing areas so that would be great if that is why the slashing is happening. Potential abounds!

Very basic campground with no facilities beyond a toilet. The stars are beautiful on clear nights and the river is lovely. Not too hard to get to, either.

Don’t go there if its not school holidays or not a holiday season, otherwise you will be all by yourself.Campground is decent. There are only about 6 spots with chair and firepits, so not good if it gets too crowded. This place may be good for those who want to just getaway and have a good family/friends time. There isn’t much else to do over here. There is a walking or cycling trail, so good for a short walk or stroll.Note that there is a single waterless toilet for the entire campground. There is absolutely no water, so make sure you carry your own for washing too. Toilet is not the cleanest. No showers. Also note that if you’re coming here from Sydney there is about 20-25Kms of gravel or unsealed road. I travelled there in a Sedan and hated it (just me). The campground requires you to drive through a small stream of 10 metres or so. So if you’re in a very low down car, please take note.Note, also that winters get very cold. So dont head there in winter. We were there in the end of September and it was still freeezing (0 degrees) during the nights. Finally, no mobile reception of any kind.

Looking for somewhere to park the camper trailer for a few days or set up a tent for a night or two? Capertee campground is a great spot for your campsite and, with campfires permitted in fireplaces, is just as suitable for winter camping as it is for summer. When Capertee River is running, enjoy a refreshing paddle on a warm day or a walk along its banks. If you’re keen on birdwatching, take along your binoculars to get a closer look at woodland birds as black cockatoos screech overhead as though vying for your attention. The area is also ideal for hiking and cycling.

Bring your own everything, although there is a toilet there.
