Definitely worth every bite! HAHAHI tried 3 menu, watermelon, lychee and lemon one, all of them were great, but the watermelon stood up the most!Will come back againnn~~

Tried the famous strawberry watermelon cake. It lived up to the hype for sure. We also tried the lemon pistachio cake. It was the right balance of sweet and sour.BUT… the customer service here is horrible. Firstly, there are limited seats - 8 bar stools to be exact. We asked the staff for help as we were holding 2 plates and a drink. We needed a seat and there were customers who had already finished their food and drinks. They refused to help and ignored our request. So, we had to stand right in front of the cake / pastry display in the corner to eat. It was so frustrating as we were blocking incoming patrons.After we finished, we wanted to order a ham and cheese croissant to go. We saw a staff placing it on a tray and was about to wrap it. WE KNEW THAT they still had it but refused to serve it as it was 30 mins to closing time.IN SHORT, HORRIBLE SERVICE, NICE CAKE BUT NOT WORTH THE EXPERIENCE AND WE WON’T BE COMING BACK.

Me and my sister travelled a good 40minutes for this watermelon latte. It was over rated and tasted too strong. It looks insta worthy but taste was too much.... I even got a strong taste of rose which I'm not a huge fan of. No matter, the watermelon cake still lives up to the hype.

Strawberry Watermelon Cake is my favourite. First time trying coffee here - It was ok, they gave me a wrong size of coffee even though they were trying to fix it but I wouldn’t bother me none.

Love Black Star's Newtown store!Long marble tabletop, tiled marble entry, high ceilings and bright white walls with natural light.Beautiful cake display. All the cakes look SO delicious.Excellent, friendly customer service.I was there to collect an order so I just headed to the right hand side of their main display cabinet and with my order number. No need to wait in line.My cake was handled with care and professionalism. I ordered a Strawberry Watermelon Cake for a birthday and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved it. So fresh and tasty.Can't wait to re-visit as a dine-in customer!

Located in a beautiful building in the heart of Newtown, Black Star lives up to its reputation for beautiful and delicious pastries. We had to try the strawberry watermelon cake, a baking wonder given the fresh watermelon centre - how they ensure it doesn't 'leak' is probably a trade secret (and worth the rather steep $10 pricetag). The lamb shoulder and onion pie must have weighed 250gm! It was loaded with the good stuff and can pass for a full meal. The coffee was a huge hit with my partner though I prefer a stronger roast.Only downside is that there's barely 6-7 barstool style seats inside. So grab your order and enjoy it at one of the many benches nearby.

Great very aesthetically pleasing patisserie, the pain au chocolat was absolutely massive, with more layers than pages in a dictionary. Super tasty definitely recommend, the coffee was pretty standard however could’ve caught them on a bad day.
