Radio Doctor Illawarra

I used radio doctor when I can't get appointment to regular MO. I have been lucky to meet dr. Babik many times and have to admit none of the doctors checked me so well as dr. Babik.I have COPD and he is the only doctor who always knows how to help me with my cough and breeding problems.I believe he is the Best doctor of all, many thanks for him. He save me from going to hospital many times, even send me one day from work to hospital with heart attack, which I wouldn't know I had, stoped me from driving back home. He is my life saver..Thank you again dr. Babik.

Many thanks to radio Dr's Illawarra. Without this service I can only imagine how over run the emergency department would be. Caring call staff and wonderful doctors only too willingly to help. Thank you!

I rang them at 6:20pm to get an appointment got one the doctor rang me sent me two scripts and told me they be out after 12am I rang back at 2:30am and was told no doctor is coming so I asked why got yelled at and was told they ring me back 20 mins later a doctor with a Queensland number said he rang the doctor I spoke to earlier and he told she never said she was coming I replied so you calling me a lier I said u can’t do this to me I’ve been up half the night waiting then he talked over me as I went into a panic then screamed go make a complaint I’m sorry but I’ve family who died in wars to make this country what it is I’ve never received any service like this from a doctor how can they treat ppl this way I’m sorry but unless yr a child or over 75 they don’t come to yr house I’ve noticed a lot of complaints similar to mine must be a wollongong thing very sad to be treated this way after waiting 9 hours just be careful when ringing them they abuse as well as lie there meant to be healthcare professionals and have a code of conduct and guidelines they must follow maybe this honest review might help as I’ll not ring again I’m actually extremely traumatised by the whole experience also got my scripts sent to me in messages only half a script they opened a sealed pack took half my meds and gave me half a pack how do I know it’s safe they only come in 60s and pack has been tampered with shocking rang back a month later for the rest of my script or to gain another was told I’m now restricted so me calling for help has turned into a witch-hunt bc I typed here what’s exactly happened I would say the service is run by Karen’s and Darren’s good luck

I was supposed to get a home visit, they called instead, albeit within the 2 hours. I knew potentially what was wrong as I've had it before and they confirmed/agreed and where sending the scripts within half hour to my local pharmacy, where I sat 2 or 3 hours later, still nothing, rang them back, checked email address, was correct, different person said would send again, nothing, next day STILL nothing. What a waste of my time and the pharmacy, so my infection is worse and now i have an appointment with someone in my usual medical centre, thank goodness I didn't cancel that, waste of my time, I was an easy person to help and still couldn't assist. First time FAIL!

I've had to spend around 40mins continually on redial to be connected to then wait around 25mins on hold, there is obviously a greater demand for service than the operation can meet. I've then been told that the doctors in my area are fully booked, but when I have been able to get booked the doctors are great and it is such a relief to be able to have them come to consult in your own home especially when you have a sick child. I just wish they had more operators to answer calls and doctors to do the home visits. They start taking calls from 6pm- 6am Monday to Thursday and 6pm Friday till 6am Monday.

Called last night for a doctor to come out to see my daughter who was unwell. Dr Natalia Perker arrived and was absolutely amazing. She was kind,caring and thorough. She is an absolute asset to your gp team and amazing at what she does. Thank you Dr Perker and Radio doctors for your wonderful service.

Doctor attended the house to assess two sick kids. Was kind and professional with minimal waiting time. This is an excellent service to prevent attending the emergency department with sick kids in the middle of the night and a great relief for concerned parents.

Called tonight at 6 pm. No answer. Tried again at 6.15 and line was busy. Eventually got through at 6.32 pm. Went through the details as we drove home. When asked were we at the given address, I answered “we will be”. Haha. Big mistake. We were told for the next five minutes that we must be at home and that she would wait until we were inside the house before continuing as she was not permitted to do otherwise. She told me I would have to hang up and call back when I arrived home. Haha. After waiting 30 mins to get thru. You is ‘avin a larf, intya? So I pulled into the car park of KFC, turned off my ignition, turned off hands free and told the rude lady what she wanted to hear… that I was in my house. Luckily I picked up dinner because it’s now 10:17 and no doctor.Update. Doctor arrived at 10:57. Omg what a rude and unpleasant man. No words. Just gestures and grunts and the bedside manner of a vase.Never again.To the people of the Illawarra I highly recommend getting sick during your GP opening hours if you can manage it.A one star review because zero stars is not an option.

The Doctor who attended our elderly father last night was amazing. His compassion, advice and manner were exemplary. I think he was actually the best Doctor I have met over my 60 years. Thank you for providing this invaluable service. It must be hard work for the team to do such late rounds. This family appreciates it.

A male Russian doctor (apologies I did not get his name) attended my home to review my 3yo old son who presented with vomiting and a fever.Dr arrives makes his observations and gave the diagnosis that my son had middle ear infection and possible diabetes YES diabetes !! I was advised to go straight to the ER as his ear may rupture and to request a a diabetes test please note he made this diagnoses after just 5 minutes. In utter disbelief as my son was ONLY vomiting we attended ER after waiting 6+ hours pricked and prodded to be told he had gastro. 3 weeks have past and I am still thinking of the high of this doctor to make such a diagnosis without knowing my sons prior medical history , diet or lifestyle and as for middle ear we were told my sons ears were fine and very little wax was even present. I hope this doctor reads or is informed of this review because his words have not left my mind since I prey this does not happen to anyone else who phones for help as I received none I was only issued with worry and fear. Very upsetting from a mother with a healthy 3 year old with no diabetes or middle ear infection think before making such assumptions about one’s health you have no idea the terror you inflicted those 6 hours felt like an eternity shame on you.
