I went in on a whim to buy a book I saw in the window and actually forgot about that book within a few minutes. Every shelf had something fascinating and unique -- few bookstores wear their owner's personal touch as openly as this one. Just browsing feels like an enriching experience. We need more places like this in the world, where sharing creativity and ideas is a celebration.Oh and I still bought that book. And a bunch of other ones. I almost felt bad taking a few of them home and away from their proper place, but for all its artistic trappings Lonely Coat is still a shop and the best way to ensure places like this stick around to keep working their magic...is to shop there. Which you absolutely should.

A must visit whenever I go to Gymea, such a cute shop! And I love the mural outside. I rarely leave empty handed. Well curated, most items and books have a uniqueness about them. The prices reflect the quality and uniqueness of the products. The website is also worth a peruse, esp. if you are looking for books.

What a beautiful store right here in Gymea! Filled with books and art that are quirky and unique, it’s charming and warm and welcoming. Everything was just beautiful as was the lovely Lady who looked after me. Her love for her books, art and for her store was clearly evident. I purchased a gorgeous book and book mark and had the most wonderful experience looking at all the unique treasures. I would most highly recommend this wondrous store and the wonderful warm and welcoming attention to its customers. I can’t recommend this little gem highly enough. The staff are a talented creative force bringing art, books, jewellery and collaboration of ideas and critical thinking to the Sutherland Shire.Collage making sessions and book club discussions the latest offering in must attend events.

Wonderful store full of an eclectic mix of unique books and artwork. From the first step in the door you can tell that this shop is a family passion, and that every piece of art, piece of jewellery, and every page on the shelf is carefully curated. The owner is quick to help find what you're looking for or suggest things that might suit your tastes, and rarely have I felt more welcome on a first visit.I have found several wonderful volumes that I purchased for myself since discovering the store earlier this year, but more than that I have purchased delightful gifts for loved ones that I'd never have known existed before walking in. Really just a delightful experience every time!

BEAUTIFUL space and collection of books. I could hide in here in the comfy chairs and flick through books all day! So welcoming and safe space to connect to each other as well as the wonderful literature that fills the shelves! Thank you for bringing such a unique shop to the local area.
