I used Lithgow Conveyancing to purchase my first property in August 2021. It was Javiah’s responsibility to sort out the outstanding water bill with the previous owner and the council. After multiple attempts to contact Javiah, I emailed the council to contact Javiah with a copy of the notice and certificates that were issued to her in July 2021. Late January 2022 I was still chasing Javiah to sort out the remaining balance. After threatening to go to fair trading, the issue was resolved. Terrible communication from Lithgow Conveyancing. Go elsewhere!

If you want professional service and basic communication, don't choose Lithgow Conveyancing.We recently purchased a block of land and chose Javiah to act as our conveyancer. From day one there has been zero communication and service. They didn't even let us know that they had received our contract. I had to call them a week and a half later to ask if they had it.The lack of communication continued throughout the whole process, there was no attempt to explain any aspects of the contract and when I questioned restrictions on the property I was told that it isn't her responsibility to check and that I would need to call the council myself to find out, isn't that what I paid a conveyancer for?There was zero communication from Javiah leading up to settlement and on the day of she advised of additional settlement fees (exceeding $1,000) which then lead to us not having enough funds from our lender to draw the funds on settlement. After a lot of running around the morning of settlement and help from our broker we were able to push the settlement through on time. Javiah offered no assistance whatsoever and told us that she did not have access to our bank accounts to know how much money is in them so it wasn't her fault.... I understand that but had we known of the additional charges before settlement we could have had the funds ready to go!The whole process has left us uneasy and anxious that something may have been missed.After our experience I have spoken to a number of people who have recently purchased and used Lithgow Conveyancing and they advised that their experience was similar to ours.They may be the cheapest but trust me, use a solicitor or alternative conveyancer, cheapest is not always the best way to go.
