Compass Pools - Sydney

I used Compass Pools for the installation of my pool last year. It took me a long time to even bring myself to write this feedback and take the emotion out of it. Absolutely everything that could go wrong went wrong with this project. From the initial sales discussion including the complete lack of transparency on the process and cost, to Project Management or lack there of, to a poor experience with the builder and landscaper subcontracted to Compass, need I continue ? My entire backyard had to be fully remodeled to accommodate the entry to the back yard which was never outlined during the initial engagement, not even as a possibility. Almost all of the costs were provisional and ended up being inflated by circa 25% to the initial budget. The project felt rushed once the concreting was done as the team were doing multiple projects at a time and rushing from one to another in the same day. Final finishes not great, B grade at best, absolutely no pride or care in ensuring that the end product looked good. Project Management - non existent. Throughout this entire nightmare which caused my family and me so much stress, I felt totally alone dealing with one issue after another, escalating continually to Paul without a single response. As a customer I felt the “blame” was on me for just not putting up with the experience I was given and for demanding transparency on cost and better communication. Hidden cost, bullish behavior, lack of communication and support, this is what I will remember this experience by. Definitely do not recommend this company. Product is great, however, the team working on site with customers requires a serious review. One highlight is Fred. Great, caring guy who will look after your pool well once installed.

We engaged with Compass pools September 2020. We had researched our pool options and had contacted all pool service providers in the central west. Within a matter of days Craig from compass pools had sat down with us and explained our options and what would be provided. His quote was done on the spot and he was extremely transparent with costs. Our quote included all services (council approval, earth works, pool shell, water trucks, concrete, steel, heating, cleaning system etc).After many phone calls to Craig with lots of questions we decided to move forward with our pool. Craig always answered our calls or responded in a timely manner to missed calls.Craigs customer service is exceptional. He and his team greeted and conversed with ourselves and our children each morning and afternoon. They were courteous of noise around my babies sleeping times and always informed us prior of when they would be arriving and what we could expect that day.On the day our pool shell was delivered, Craig noticed that there was a small chip/ crack on the lip of the pool. He took photos and liaised with compass pools via email for which we were cc’d into. The company refunded us a small amount of money and assured us through written communication that any problems down the track and they would completely redo our pool free of charge. ***note*** this chip/ crack was on the lip of the pool that went above a steel beam and was covered in concrete. It did not affect the structure/ integrity at all and could not be seen once the concrete had been poured. The service provided by compass pools in this situation was above and beyond as well as reassuring.The whole process was an amazing experience. Our pool took no longer than 2 weeks from start to finish. We loved Craig’s sense of humour and ability to get along with all our family members. Four months of having our pool and Craig still regularly contacts us to check our pool levels. We could not thank Craig and compass pools enough for their service, expertise and ease of purchasing/ installing a pool. We would have no hesitation in recommending the product of a compass pool or installation by Craig.

Craig was very professional and followed through with everything he promised. He went above and beyond with all requests and his trade skills were great. Thanks for the great pool - the kids love it!

Fantastic service! When a small piece of our Vantage pool cleaning system needed replacing I went up to Compass at Dural to source the part. Imagine my surprise when Russell Fagan, (who installed our pool in May 2007!!), not only remembered the job without referring to any notes but handed me the part there and then at no charge. He assured me when we got the pool that the extra money for the Vantage system was a great investment, he was 100% right as we have never vacuumed the pool in 14 years and it is always sparkling clean. Thanks again Russell !

I have been enjoying my compass pool for over 10 years now. My family and friends love it as well and often comment that it feels like being at a resort. Craig, Sam and Rhys installed and landscaped my pool.Their professionalism, experience and attention to detail is outstanding.Craig advised me to include infloor cleaning to ensure that I had all the enjoyment of the pool with virtually no work required. The best decision ever. The after care has been exceptional with regular ongoing maintenance. If I have a query at any time(which has been rare) help is a phone call away and if not answered immediately will always be attended to within a short time on the same day. Absolutely love my pool.

We recently installed a compass pool and while the pool is great, our experience with compass was not. Paul, the General Manager, was not very helpful at all during our process. We essentially project managed our construction without any help from him. Even though we took on their subcontractors, one of which, was absolutely appalling, Paul didn’t have any part of organising or liaising with our subcontractors. Once they arrived at our home, we were basically the ones that chased them, which absolutely shouldn’t be the case. We were very disappointed with the lack of leadership shown during our build and have subsequently told others who are using compass pools of our experience. Compass pools have a great product, they now need to find some good project managers and subcontractors who reflect that. At the moment, that is just not the case.

Craig installed our compass pool a few years ago. He did a great job. Helped us through the pool selection and design process including all of the landscaping and paving. He was great on-site, was there promptly each morning and completed what proved to be a very big job in a short amount of time. Since then Craig and Sam have been back a few times to assist us with modifications and general maintenance. I would recommend Craig and Sam without hesitation. He even brought us a case of beer so we could really enjoy our first swim.

Really appreciate all the work the guys at 'Compass Pools' have done for our pool. Not that there is a difference between Compass Pools and the people that do installation.Also,Russell Fagan from 'Compass Pools' is incredibly passionate about Compass and will not let you down.Highly recommend Steve at Marble Plus for tile sourcing, John Hu for tiling install and Dhes at Avante-Guard Glass for the fencing.
