I vacated the property on 24 October 2020 when my rent ends 01 December 2020. I gave a written notice to John the director on 28 Oct and paid out all rent. Since that John had 8 emails from me asking “are there any updates” and 23 business days to notify me about any issues but he did not.A month later, 20 Nov John sent me an email that he has secured a new tenant, which means there were inspections and people entered the unit. Two weeks later, on 2 December he sent me the photos of dirty spots (a drawer and a kitchen skirt), which were dated 26 November and he said he wants to deduct $80 from my bond for cleaning that. So he discovered issues after inspections took place and after 33 days of the property being vacated. I requested photos after cleaning, John did not send them. I requested the invoice – no response.I went to the property and spoke to the new tenant. I showed her the photos and asked if those spots are clean. She said “no” – they were exactly in the same condition as on the photos when she moved in. She cleaned the drawer by herself and the kitchen skirt is still dirty, I took a photo and sent it to John asking what is he trying to charge me for. On the next day an email from RTBA came in with my bond. No response from John at all. No apologies, no explanations, nothing.Summarizing all that – violation of all deadlines, attempt to steal money from my bond, rudeness, complete lack of understanding what reputation is.This agency is terrible, avoid it at any cost.

Worst real estate ever. No action taken on a violent and disruptive tenant and neighbour by the owner of this company. Several home owners moved out as they refuse to do anything despite numerous complaints which they usually do not have the decency to respond to. Has been going on for 9 months now. Am seeking legal advice with a view to suing.

During the pandemic I looked for a bigger apartment. I came to inspect a small one bedroom and the lovely agent, Susie, told me she has another apartment which will be perfect for me. I was hesitant, but followed Susie to a beautiful two bedroom apartment which was for the same price as the apartment I originally came to inspect. Fast forward, I still live in the two bedroom apartment that Susie thought would be perfect for me and guess what - she was right!

The worst Real Estate to deal with ever, the do not care about the renter at all and are quick to threaten VCAT at every moment. I would NOT recommend renting through them at all and when I did leave they then provided false information in regards to exit inspections, vacate clean and telling me to leave the power on for 10 days after the lease ends! Told me they had 14 days to carry out the exit inspection when in fact it is only 10 days and refused to advise when it would be completed so I could attend telling me I did not have to be there when in fact Tenants Victoria encourage it!Completely Unprofessional behaviour from a Real Estate, they should not be allowed to rent properties!AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!

This was quite frankly the WORST real estate experience I have EVER had. There is a reason they are called HALF a percent. If i could give zero stars I would. I was a tenant, we had blocked pipes, toilets blocked coming up the shower, massive OH&S issue. Took John 5 DAYS to get a plumber in.We came in on a lease transfer, signed the transfer and condition report and paid our bond. Spoke to john throughout our tenancy.(The contract looked like a messy scrap piece of paper,) Now we are moving out, paid for damages and an expensive end of lease clean per real estate.Upon asking for our bond back, we have been told we are not even on the lease?And now john is apparently away on holiday.Absolute joke of a real estate.Given us NO rights, and now needs to escalate to VCAT unfortunately more months of a headache. Would strongly not recommend.I am shocked at the lack of care and respect.

I service the garden for some apartments managed by Halfapercent in the St Kilda area and have found that John and his staff are good communicators who reply to inquiries promptly and seek the best outcome for all parties involved. What's more, invoices are settled promptly. A good outfit to manage body corporates, I would think.

Be careful with these guys. Tried to rip me off when we gave notice to vacate by making me pay for wear and tear from the bond money. Terrible communicators and horrible rude customer service on the phone. Stay away

I have been a client of Half a Percent for over 20 years and have always been delighted with their professional service.Both John and Rosie are caring and I would never give my properties to anyone else to look after my property portfolio.
