If you’re reading this review, you’ve probably already made a quick judgement about High Hopes Roadhouse based on its Google Star Rating. Admittedly, so did I, and I didn’t have very high hopes" about having lunch here based on previous customer feedback about the food and service.The first thing you’ll notice about High Hopes Roadhouse when you enter (apart from the eclectic decor and mis-matched furniture) is the young staff. Most of the kitchen and front-of-house looked like they were yanked fresh out of high school or first year TAFE

Phenomenally friendly service by the 2 owners themselves, very reasonable prices for top quality beautiful food in an amazing setting, this location is the definition of a true country roadhouse.10/10 no faults.Recommend:steak and eggs (don't skip the roesti)Sean's pasta (out of this world)

High Hopes Roadhouse
We enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch here. We loved cauliflower Mac and cheese and the mushrooms on toast with sliced ham on the side were fabulous. It was a cold day so the fire made the dining room very cosy. We bought some dark chocolate walnut cream chocolates from the sweet shop and had them with our coffee, fantastic!

This is a super cute little restaurant on the Bell's Line of Road. It's opposite the Grumpy Baker and has a lovely outdoor area where you can enjoy the winter sun. The inside has a big warm fireplace too. The meals are made from locally sourced produce and the restaurant is staffed by super friendly locals who have great info about the area. The food is great. I definitely recommend the mushrooms on toast. Those mushrooms are zesty and delicious! The owner is great for a chat too. Excellent spot to stop on your way through Bilpin.

High Hopes Roadhouse
Keep your hopes low. We were highly disappointed with the quality, presentation and price of the food we ordered. The chicken nuggets we small, unseasoned, burnt and cost $12 for 6 tiny pieces, without a side, served on a small side plate. The Cauliflower Mac and cheese was tasty but had a hair in it and the pumpkin soup was bland and small. Overall servers and setting was lovely however would not recommend dinning at this roadside stop, unless for a quick coffee.
