About the Business

Somerset Trail - Aussie Bushwalking | Somerset Trail - A pleasant circular walk through open and pine forest as well as pockets of rainforest. At around the halfway point, there are a series of lookouts over Somerset Dam to the north and Lake Wivenhoe to the south, with a backdrop of the far mountain ranges. This area was heavily logged, hence the saw mill at The Gantry and evident by the 'plank' groves on some of the old tree stumps.

Pretty easy but pleasant hike with beautiful views from sommerset look out. A pleasant surprise! And if coming from Brisbane, Daybora is a good spot for coffee ;)

Pretty long walk- took us about 3.5 hours at a good pace. Most of the nice stuff is midway through so takes some stamina to get through the hills!

This was our first decent length trail and it was very enjoyable. The views were great and there were plenty of birds to spot enroute. Was about 15k all in and took us around 4 hours to walk. Easy to follow and well worth it.

Nice moderately difficult hike. There are some nice views at the lookout but the sounds of the birds and the forest itself is beautiful throughout the hike. Theres no steep incline or decline and no rock scrambling.

My friend and I went to this track this morning, starting from around 9am and finished at 12:30noon. It gets super hot and stuffy around 11am. I would highly recommend you to start early like 7am. End up, we realised it was 38 degree! It is a fairly easy track with flat paths. There are plenty of shades at most of the track. We spotted a water dragon, a snake, and a blue tongue lizard.Overall, it is a fun track with beautiful view at the look out, just avoid the mid day sun!

I was totally surprised by this trail. I live just down the road and didn't even know it existed. A good 3 or so hour hike with easy to moderate hills. Lots of birds and flora. The views at the end are just spectacular. The sign at the start is missing, so make sure you don't go down the wrong travel like we did. It's to the right of the sign near the second carpark. With the short Piccabean walk at the start it was a total of 15km.

The 13k walking trail is just fantastic. The trail is wide and relatively even and the views are amazing. The highlight was the Somerset Lookout halfway through the circuit.
